Oh hey, Hollywood is making a big time Assassin’s Creed motion picture. Last night, the film’s trailer debuted, and the internet has opinions about it. The internet always has opinions. Always.
So, let’s dive in and see what the internet thinks! Feel free to add more of your own thoughts in the comments down below or, better yet, mutter them directly at your screen.
Some thought it showed promise and/or looked nice:
I’m not shocked that ASSASSIN’S CREED looks good.. everyone involved are top-notch.. let’s see if this film is coherent though unlike games

Assassin’s Creed film trailer is pretty good. Wouldn’t have been my choice of music, but the historical action looks great.

Criticism of the music selection:

“Hey what if we played the Assassin’s Creed trailer to literally any awesome music from the series?”
“Nah let’s blare Kanye instead.”— Brendan Graeber (@Ragga_Fragga) May 12, 2016

Inevitable digs:
Every pre-order for the Assassin’s Creed movie comes with a pair of pants that makes you walk faster for some reason.

The Assassin’s Creed movie trailer is in 720p. HOW FITTING.

The Assassin’s Creed movie will just be the same four scenes repeated 10 times.

Some real talk:
That Assassin’s Creed trailer is the most trailer-y of any trailer ever
— Lucy O’Brien (@Luceobrien) May 12, 2016
I hope in Assassin’s Creed there’s a scene where Michael Fassbender is trying to run away but keeps climbing on and off a low wall instead.

Just needs 6fps more for that cinematic feel.
Wait, it’s releasing against Rogue One.
Hahahahahahahaha what the fuck who do they think the audience for this movie is?
The thing is that date is significant in the game’s lore. 21/12 is the end of the world as predicted by the Mayan calendar in 2012 and was when the world would be hit in the games universe by a giant solar flare.
Yeah, in 2012. Not 2016.
Still had a lot of fans seeing that date and thinking, “RIP Desmond”.
…And for some reason my phone posted my comment twice…
Right, so I was skimming the article list and because I am a bit sleep deprived and the letter fell in a lighter area of the image, I read the text as
Starring Michael Assbender
Just thought you should all know
Somehow I hadn’t watched the trailer until now, but my God that music selection really was terrible. It somehow managed to be both generic as trailer music and totally unsuited to being in a trailer at the same time, that’s kind of incredible.
I must be the only one to watch the trailer and think “meh..”
No, I too was completely underwhelmed.
The worst thing is Kanye West will make like $100.000 because his lame ass song was used.
A whole 100 dollars? That lucky devil.
Impressive cast but I have a strong feeling it is another shameless cash grab.
I cringed hard when Kanye bcos Kanye.
Warcraft trailer has dubstep.
Assassins Creed trailer has rap.
WTF are marketing departments doing!?
I’m starting to think that bad music choices is somehow secretly a tactical decision. I mean, c’mon – surely no one thought that was a good selection! But a lot of people are talking about the trailer – even if it’s just to complain about how bad the music was!
After all, there’s no such thing as bad publicity…
I don’t get the hate. It takes real talent to rhyme ‘god’ with ‘god’ four times in a row.
Surprised there was no “Now where is the spreadsheet to tell me which cinema’s to go see the movie at so I get to see the whole thing” type comment in the reactions
You tell everybody. Listen to me. You’ve gotta tell ’em! THE INTERNET IS PEOPLE!
