It’s been in the works for a little while, and was supposed to be coming out very soon. As it turns out, it’s real soon.
Jackbox Games has finally put a release date this week on the draw-on-your-mobile-phone party game. They’d announced it was due out in the autumn, but that ended up being quietly pushed back to the first month of winter.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait much longer. The Jackbox site now says Drawful 2 will be out on June 21, and there’s a new trailer to boot.
Perhaps the most interesting new feature is the ability to add your own custom prompts. In theory it’ll allow people to extend the game’s longevity as well as tailoring it to their humour, although we’ll have to wait until next week to see how that works in practice.
Drawful 2 will be published separately from the remainder of the Jackbox Party Packs. It’d be nice if Jackbox could just get one launcher to unify the 15 or so different games they have now, but maybe I’m asking for too much.
Anyway. June 21 for all major platforms, including Mac. It’ll be fun.
