From cinematic attacks tearing across the sky to the appearance of a certain blue cat dressed in a red onesie, so far Injustice 2 has everything a fan of the first game could want, as long as they are me.
The first gameplay trailer for the sequel to NetherRealm Studios’ hit comic book fighter showcases several new characters joining the brawl in 2017, including Red Lantern Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd and Black Manta. We get to see Supergirl taking the bus, Aquaman go fishing and Superman having a game of catch with Batman.
We also get a look at some of the costume upgrades players will be able to acquire as they play, hopefully through skill and perseverance. That’s all very exciting, but pay special attention to the space above the Red Lantern’s shoulder in the opening scene.
That’s a good kitty, Dex-Starr. Good kitty.
We’ll see more of at E3 next week, where hopefully someone will ask if Dex-Starr is playable or if he’s just too powerful.

I didn’t know Winston was making a cameo!
Only gripe i have with this new Armour system is it seems to be purely cosmetic (which isn’t bad).
I though when the announcement was released we would see a similar fighting style system to MKX, as it would make sense to evolve with the innovations they made in MKX to Injustice 2 as they did with MK9 to Injustice.
That being said i’m hoping that the armor works in conjunction with alt costumes as i would like some multiverse variety (new 52/rebirth, red son, arrowverse, etc), adding more customization to characters.
i’m actually pretty impressed with the editing & music in that trailer.
I see Black Manta.
This excites me.
Was pretty indifferent to the first game when it came out (critique of it here: https://andthegeekshall.wordpress.com/2014/04/01/the-least-of-the-best-game-review-injustice-gods-among-us/) which has since turned to apathy & then into loathing.
Do want this new game to improve things from the last but have a feeling it’s be run over by the IGN hype train before derailing into mediocrity before being forgotten about entirely.
