Pokémon GO has only be out in Japan for a few days. Players need to catch up quickly! Some have come up with some ways they think they can.

The goal is fooling the smartphone’s sensor so Pokémon GO would register steps and distance travelled to hatch eggs and earn XP. Easier said than done. Some of these tricks have already been tested in the US and here in Australia. The Japanese toy trains, though, are a new twist.
People have tried turntables, to which is something Tech Insider previously pointed out:

An electric fan, which apparently works like the turntable trick and which apparently doesn’t really work that well:

Toy trains, which seems to be the most popular:

Apparently the toy train trick doesn’t work that well, because as this Twitter user shows, it logs 70 meters over the course of ten minutes:

Which you could get in, like, a minute or so of walking.
If these don’t produce the desired results, you can always try this:

Which might work best of all.

I think a wide, perfect circle would get the best results in a small space, seeing as it goes by GPS, small turns/back and forth won’t register as much.
Perhaps people in Australia might want to try strapping it to a hills hoist and adding a sail for the wind to drive it? might work well.
Or….go for a damn walk. Jesus.
There is a limit though, what are we supposed to do while we sleep for three hours, turn the game off? Filthy casual!!
I’m kidding, but If the game has the ability to make people do exercise when the usually don’t, they will go the other extreme also.
My mothers house overlooks a long park with a ton of pokestops (Can reach one from her kitchen, so jealous)
Since the game came out there are countless people walking around during the day, but at night, holy shit the vehicle traffic is insane.
They pull in to the street and drive from one pokestop to the next before driving off.
Last night I put down a lure, within minutes the parking across the road was full of cars.
Yeah, the traffic situation has gotten *fucking moronic*. We had police around our lake tonight booking people who had mobile phones out while driving (a main road runs by it, it’s a man made lake). Guess what a bunch were busted doing? Police were saying loudly “Playing Pokemon go?” so people could hear. It’s in its ‘new’ phase atm, and in a few months it will die down, that’s a given, but for now, people will sure do stupid things…
There’ll be times I’ll put my phone on my desk, and the little Pokemon trainer on my phone walks off up the road, then back, and then up again, and then back.
Does that a few times when I’m outside at a Pokemon stop. He just wanders off, giving a ‘Too Far’ warning.
Mine does that too, left the game running while it was in my locker and somehow I had walked 400 metres.
My phone’s GPS drifts really far when I’m in my office. Drifted over 1.5km in less than an hour. Great for hatching eggs
Japanese players need all the leg-up they can get; literally an hour after the game came out in Japan I visited a pokemon centre, the gym there was already taken over by a lvl 22 player with a pokemon with something like 2000CP. Foreign tourists have dominated all the big gyms here :/
Mostly Chinese players spoofing their gps
Hahaha this is priceless
