Watch Us Play A VR Game About Musical Cheeseburgers

Rarely do I find a virtual reality game worth the hype, but Playthings, released yesterday, literally takes the cake. I mean literally — there is a lot of cake.

Playthings is a tropical island “music playground” for the HTC Vive. In it, players’ instruments are a feast of cheeseburgers, cupcakes, gummy bears and hot dogs, floating around a rainbow candyland. When hit with Vive’s mallets, they emit relaxing xylophone sounds. The mallets can also transform into tongs, with which players can play with their food.

Today at Kotaku’s offices, Playthings developer and founder of Always & Forever Computer Entertainment George Brower came in to demo his game and talk with us on Facebook Live:
