Preston Garvey is famed for sending players on endless settlement liberation quests. Often, these settlements will be threatened by raiders. Incidentally, the latest Fallout 4 DLC lets you become a raider. You see where this is going, yes?
The first thing that popped into my mind when I started the new DLC was, “What would Preston Garvey do if I took him along for the ride?” Most of the time, Preston is fine with you taking quests and going around the Nuka World theme park, even if he might disapprove of smaller moral choices. But if you take over an actual settlement as a raider with Preston Garvey as your sidekick, he will lose his shit completely, as you’ll see below in the footage by FluffyNinjaLlama:
“I trusted you, and then you joined up with the scum that prey on the Commonwealth?” Preston asks, before basically disowning you as a general and friend. Damn, dude. I was just giving you more territory to claim during your radiant quests, chill!

Relax Preston, just give me a quest to take it back, win win
He actually hates you even if he’s not present when you capture a settlement for the raiders. I trundled back to the Castle to see him and he gave me a lecture and refuses to give me quests.
That’s okay, as I found Minuteman quests super annoying. I like the radiant railroad quests more.
Yeah it sounds like a win win to me.
OK so….
In response to everyone complaining that there was very little RPG in their “RPG”.
They made DLC where your only choice, if you want to be able to involve yourself in the DLC, is to be the bad guy…..
I dont think anyone has told them how RPGs work……
I honestly have no interest in playing it. I’ve spent over 200 trying to make my Fallout 4 world better – why the hell would I want to completely undo all that?!
So disappointed with the DLC for Fallout 4. Compared to F3 and the fantastic F:NV, it’s abysmal.
You don’t have to be evil. You can
choose to take back Nuka World by killing off the raider gangs, thus maintaining your squeaky-clean reputation. It’s just a matter of stumbling upon the right NPC in Nuka World and nabbing that quest. As someone who is bitterly disappointed with the lack of evil options in Fallout 4 I’m looking forward to playing this.
