Fitting for the game’s first handheld adaptation, a side-scroller rendition of Pikmin is coming to Nintendo 3DS in 2017.
Capitalising on the 3DS’s touchscreen, Nintendo announced today that, in the new Pikmin, “You tap the touch screen where you want to throw [Pikmin].”
The original Pikmin was released for the GameCube in 2001. Pikmin 2 and 3 were released in 2004 and 2013. This is the first side-scroller version of the adorable leaf creature franchise.

This better not be what they were referring to as Pikmin 4…
Exactly what I said.
Also they gone and Chibi Robo’d it.
I bet they call it something like “Pikmin: Touch and Grow”.
Or Pikmin: Innuendo.
I would assume due to the nature of how the gameplay works on both screens with touch input, this game likely won’t use 3D graphics…? Looks fun. Loves me some Pikmin. Hope it turns out good.
