Steam Is Having A Big Halloween Sale

It’s almost Halloween! You know what that means: Video games for scary cheap prices. Or just regular cheap prices, but there’s a big picture of a spooooky cauldron full of eyeballs and hands and PC gaming components behind them.

The Steam Halloween Sale runs until November 1, and it discounts a bunch of scary games and movies, as well as quite a few that are not (unless you find Total War: Rome II’s province system utterly spine-chilling). A bunch of said games have received Halloween updates, and Steam has conveniently grouped them together for easy perusal.

If you need recommendations, I’d say go for The Darkness II (not as good as the original, but at 80 per cent off it’s a steal), Darkest Dungeon, Layers of Fear, SOMA, Oxenfree and the Metro Redux bundle. Older games like Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines and System Shock 2 are also tantalisingly cheap right now.

Lastly, I just discovered that there is a game called Blood And Bacon, and it looks like a steaming heap of pig entrails, but apparently it’s good? I’m tempted to buy it, but it’s like they say: The worst terror of all is poor purchasing decisions. So I’m really at a loss here.
