Well, guess it’s time to start listening to remixes all week — because the dragonborn is back on store shelves.
It’s Skyrim time.
Titanfall 2 (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? Respawn returns with their gigantic pilot/mech shooter, complete with a single-player campaign this time.
Should you care? Want a style of shooter that’s more frenetic than Battlefield 1? This is probably it.
Big Buck Hunter Arcade (PS4) *
What is it? You know that game you play when you’re drunk in a pub? That. But on PS4.
Should you care? Can you play this with Move controllers? I’m surprised it’s not a PSVR thing.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? Sequel to last year’s gargantuan fighting RPG.
Should you care? DBX was super underrated. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to play the original first though.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? The official Skyrim remaster.
Should you care? Should you care about Skyrim? What a silly question. If you’ve already got the Skyrim DLC on Steam, you’ll get the upgrade on PC for free.
Farming Simulator 17 (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? Get your 360 no scope plow on.
Should you care? Probably a good candidate for a holiday pick-up. People do crazy stuff with these games.
Just Dance 2017 (PS3, 360, PC, PS4, XBO, Wii, Wii U, Switch)
What is it? The thing you always see at an Ubisoft booth and Saturday night at Beta Bar.
Should you care? Care is a strong word. But the Just Dance games can always be fun with the right crowd.
Forestry 2017: The Simulation (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? Think Farming Simulator, but with a forest.
Should you care? I feel like this and Farming Simulator 2017 should be combined somehow.
Infinite Air With Mark McMorris (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? A snowboarding game that wants to be the next Skate.
Should you care? This was at EB Expo, and it still doesn’t look better than Ubisoft’s Steep.
World of Final Fantasy (PS4, Vita)
What is it? A return to Grymoire and a celebration of the original Final Fantasy games.
Should you care? If you’re a fan of the very early Final Fantasy games, absolutely.
Monster Jam: Crush It! (PS4, XBO)
What is it? Race monster trucks over stadiums, hill climbs, and various levels.
Should you care? I miss Monster Truck Madness. That was so good.
Party Golf (PC, PS4)
What is it? Tasmania’s first PS4 game: a couch co-op game involving golf and simple physics for up to 8 players.
Should you care? Looks like good fun when drunk.
Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter (PC, PS4, XBO)
What is it? Another narrative-driven adventure featuring the famous detective.
Should you care? Frogwares makes a lot of these games.
Clockwork Empires (PC)
What is it? A steampunk-themed game about building up your own colony.
Should you care? Still an awful lot of bugs, apparently.
Carnival Games VR (HTC Vive, PSVR)
What is it? A bunch of carnival parlour games.
Should you care? NVIDIA’s VR Funhouse is pretty good for a short while, and this hits a lot of the same beats. But Funhouse is free.
Snow (PS4)
What is it? PS4 launch of the free-to-play open-world snowboarding game.
Should you care? It’s a beta that you have to pay $US19.99 for. In other words, it’s still an Early Access game.
Corpse Party (3DS)
What is it? An elementary school gets hit by an earthquake and transported to an alternate reality where vengeful spirits attack the children’s sanity and their lives.
Should you care? This looks funky as hell.
Demonic Karma Summoner (Wii U)
What is it? A platformer about demonic animals in cute clothes.
Should you care? Hell no. It looks garbage, but I wanted to include a new Wii U game.
Ginger: Beyond the Crystal (PC, PS4)
What is it? A third-person cutesy platformer.
Should you care? You’d need a good dose of nostalgia, I think.
Windlands VR (PSVR)
What is it? PSVR port of the VR grappling hook game.
Should you care? Yes. One of the better games from the Vive/Rift, and one of the most comfortable.
Alice VR (PC, HTC, Rift)
What is it? A story-driven exploration game set on a planet inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
Should you care? Probably the VR game of the week.
Exile’s End (PS4, Vita)
What is it? A homage to games like Another World and Flashback.
Should you care? This isn’t a Metroidvania game, so don’t go in expecting one.
So that’s pretty much everything major coming out this week. Something important we missed? Let us know below!
Note: Big Buck Hunter is getting a retail release next week, according to EB Games, although PlayStation says it’ll be available digitally.

Also out this week:
Dark Souls III: Ashes of Andarial (PS4/PC/XBOne)
Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension (PS4/PC)
Tethered (PSVR)
Trillion: God of Destruction (PC)
Fairune 2 (3DS)
Gurumin 3D: A Monstrous Adventure (3DS)
Root Letter (PS4/Vita)
Yomawari: Night Alone (Vita)
Very keen to see how Root Letter turns out. Looks interesting!
I couldn’t find a listing to corroborate Trillion’s PC release this week, so left it off.
Something that hit early access last week and is worth a mention somewhere is the game Rogue Singularity. It’s a randomly generated platformer. It’s a lot of fun.
Made by some Melbourne guys I believe.
Psshhh, oh you and your farming machinery puns!
Is Titanfall on PS4? thought that was a xbox exclusive?
Nah, only the first one was exclusive.
Titanfall is a xbox 1 and PC exclusive. Titanfall 2 is on Xbox 1, PS4 and PC.
If we’re finally seeing digital releases for the Wii U listed here then I’d have to ask why it’s only started this week.
Unless Demonic Karma Summoner is getting a $3 boxed copy release.
I wanted to make the Wii U feel a little special 🙁
Being serious, it’s not the first time — Fast Racing Neo was a digital release, and I remember including that when it came out last year.
Oh totally, no harm done 😀
There’s something to be said for the sublime-to-ridiculous standards and regulations for games on the system – going from strict and weird restrictions on WiiWare to an absolute torrent of garbage by anybody with Unity on Eshop. Neither approach works.
Hoping I can get Dragonball Xenoverse super cheap at some point now that DBX2 is out. I want to play it, but not enough to pay anywhere near full price for it.
I got it for like $15 the other week, wish I had picked it up sooner, since the online is kind of dead. Single player is still loads of fun, think I’m near the end.
Was that on PC? I’d prefer to get it on console and it’s never gone below $50 on the Xbox live marketplace from what I’ve seen. I don’t really care for the online which is why I’ve been holding off, I really just want to smash the solo story.
Yeah, I got it for PC, playing it through with my Wii U pro controller.
Can someone come stand-in for me at work while I play DS3 DLC, BF1, GoW4, Tomb Raider and Skyrim this week?
thnkx guzysss
Wife is foaming at the mouth for Skyrim. I’ll be playing World of Final Fantasy.
Xenoverse 2 and a new Frogware Sherlock game? \o/
Beta Bar is a friday night thing!
I personally really liked Sherlock but the loaf times were insane. It drove me away when i had to jump back and forth over and over. Fora the new one suffer from long load times?
Didn’t Devil’s Daughter get released in June?! I swear I nearly picked it up for my housemate’s birthday – he loved Crime and Punishment. I was put off by the Ehhh reviews though
Crimes and Punishments was really good though admittedly I’ve been sidetracked and only played about half of it. Love the investigation style.
In case anybody is interested, the retail console versions for Vermintide comes out. Was thinking about picking it up, but it’s Left 4 Dead. Need 3 other people.
I feel like there has been almost zero hype for Titanfall 2 considering it’s probably one of the bigger releases of the year. That’s not a good sign.
