Farewell, Weird-Faced Assassin’s Creed NPC

Farewell, Weird-Faced Assassin’s Creed NPC

Last month, this dear precious boy appeared in Assassin’s Creed Ezio Collection and immediately became an internet sensation. It is with great and terrible regret that I now inform you of his passing.

A patch (spotted by Eurogamer) did the deed. Have a look:

Farewell, Weird-Faced Assassin’s Creed NPC

The NPC could show up in Sequence 1, Memory 1 of the remastered Assassin’s Creed II and gained notoriety thanks to a video by Polygon. The video, to be fair, exaggerated the game’s problems, some of which were also present in the original version of Assassin’s Creed II. It’s possible that our fish-faced friend could’ve appeared in the original version of Assassin’s Creed II as well.

Still, it seems like Ubisoft deemed him A Problem, so into the roaring furnace of history he goes. Rest in peace, weird-faced Assassin’s Creed NPC. More than any of us, you’ve earned it.
