FIFA 17 Gives Players Free Chapecoense Kit In Response To Tragic Plane Crash

Following the tragic plane crash on Monday that took the lives of a majority of players from Brazilian first-division soccer team Chapecoense, EA offers FIFA 17 players a means to show their support via a free in-game badge and kit.

The Brazilian soccer team were on the way to Medellín, Colombia ahead of the first match of their two-leg Copa Sudamericana final against Atlético Nacional on Monday evening when their plane went down, killing 71 of the 77 passengers. The small team from Chapecó were in the middle of the biggest year in club history, and the tragic loss has affected fans all over the world.

FIFA 17 added the free Chapecoense badge and kit late yesterday, shortly after fans on Reddit began suggesting they do so. The kit was accompanied by the following message:

In support of Chapecoense

Wear this kit and crest in support of the friends, family and fans of Chapecoense.
