Japan-Themed Board Game Gets Over $2 Million On Kickstarter

Let the success of Rising Sun remind you that board games with fancy miniatures do very well on Kickstarter.

The game, set in “feudal Japan”, is designed by the same guy behind Blood Rage, and plays out as a blend of strategy, worship and structured diplomacy. It sounds interesting, but let’s be real, despite the pedigree this thing is making mint because people want to play with these:

It’s $US100 ($132) to back the game, and that’s it. The more stretch goals are unlocked by purchases, the more stuff everyone who bought a copy gets.

They’re estimating a shipping date of April 2018, and you can back the game here. Note that it’s picked up over $US2 million ($2.6 million) in just a few days; there are still three weeks left on the campaign.
