For the first time in the long-running series, Dynasty Warriors will be an open world game.

Up until now, battles would happen in sections of the map, with players unable to go wherever they like to kill swarms of warriors.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu, Dynasty Warriors 9 (Shin Sangoku Muso 8) will still have massive enemies and massive hack-and-slash battles, as well as sniping down baddies from afar, scaling walls with ninja grappling hooks, and infiltrating enemy castles. Besides new characters, the game will have other revamped features, which will probably be revealed at a later date.
So far, the game has been announced for the PS4. No word on Famitsu.com as to when the title is slated for release.

Fuck the haters. I cant wait!
I’m such a Dynasty Warriors whore. I am totally pumped. 7 and 8 were absolutely fantastic in their innovations. I can’t wait to run around a war-torn China as Sima Yi, slaying legions of foes with my horsehair whip cackling madly the whole time.
MUHAHAHAHAHA!
Did you play the Zelda one? How does that compare in how good it is to the others? I enjoyed it but it’s not a game I would want to play more than once a generation.
.I never owned a Wii U so I have no idea. Sorry m8.
Nah all good. Was just wondering how it fared against a normal DW game.
Mechanically it’s very interesting, but I’ve only played it on the DS, where the graphics and controls were both kind of balls. It’s a pretty solid ‘warriors game otherwise, though.
