Clown TV, a Korean Nintendo Switch owner, wanted to customise his new console. So he skinned it in a home-made SNES (well, Super Famicom) theme that looks incredible.
He’s skinned everything. The base, the Joy-Cons, their backs, even the Switch itself.
Because it’s a skin and not a paintjob, there are naturally going to be some rough edges, particularly at the points where there are curved surfaces. But like… come on.

All these years arguing over things you thought were important, like specs, and libraries, and exclusives, and controllers, wasted. Not once have you considered the most crucial thing about a video game console. How good it looks.”]
As someone who thinks the JP/PAL Super Nintendo is one of the best-looking pieces of video game hardware of all time, seeing this only has me hoping Nintendo go ahead and release an official version of this.
Here are some more shots showing off the detail in the skin:
The same guy also turned his Wii U into a Famicom, with similarly fantastic results:

Super.
Although lame that it’s just a skin.
I thought the SNES was one of the ugliest consoles of all time.
Boring grey box.
This is a really great job, but I never found the SNES to be an attractive piece of hardware.
Are downvotes just because you don’t agree? How about a discussion instead…
Votes are speech. Boooo!
Great effort but skins are horrible. Real deal please.
Yeah this just makes me want to play my SNES…. Which I now will, thanks for the reminder Kotaku 🙂
Looks really cool. Nice job!
I love everything except the dock face adding the power and eject button, for me the colour scheme is enough. The Joy Cons especially tickle my fancy
Very cool
