At San Diego Comic-Con, Disney XD premiered a new clip from the premiere of the new iteration of DuckTales. And you will fall in love with this family, but man do they have some issues.

The clip is from the pilot movie, the first adventure that Scrooge McDuck (David Tennant) goes on with Huey (Danny Pudi), Dewey (Ben Schwartz) and Louie (Bobby Moynihan). It’s a search for the lost city of Atlantis that turns into every horrible family road trip you’ve ever been on.
You really get a sense of the different personalities at play. Scrooge McDuck is as curmudgeonly as you could ever want, but it’s the brothers and Webby (Kate Micucci) who really shine. Co-producer/story editor Francisco Angones and executive producer Matt Youngberg both stressed that their goal was to make each brother distinct in more than just shirt colour. That’s definitely the case here — especially now that we know “Huey, Dewey and Louie” isn’t just the easiest way to say their names, it’s their birth order.
The DuckTales movie premieres August 18 in the US, with the full series starting September 23.

As great as it is to see Ducktails return, I’m more interested in seeing this ‘leaked’ concept art of Darkwing Duck! Let’s get dangerous, already!
I know they have to update this show for new audiences, but it’s clearly not the same show we knew in the 80s. That’s alright – times change after all, but I don’t think I’ll be watching this series. Scrooge sounds a little like his old self, the nephews sound….. weird to me.
On the plus side, the animation is crisp, we can actually tell Huey, Dewie and Louie apart, it’s not awkwardly paced as it was back in the day, Darkwing Duck is coming at some point, you can understand the triplets instead of them sounding like they should be taking cough drops as well as having more distinc personalities and that “He doesn’t even know our names” was hilarious, to me anyway.
Even if you still wouldn’t like this, the original was still a classic and anyone can watch it for hours on end.
