Thought you’d litigated which of the two Battlestars Galactica could beat each other in a fight? Think again, because the ’70s classic is going up against its grim-and-gritty reboot self in a new comic book mashup.

The simple, yet wonderfully titled Battlestar Galactica vs Battlestar Galactica, published by Dynamite Comics, will be written by Peter David, with an artist due to be announced at a later date. Although Dynamite have owned the rights to make BSG comics in either era of the show since 2006, this is the first time the two have actually managed to meet.
The meeting will, somehow, come about when both respective crews managed to discover the last of the mysterious race that created the Cylons in the original version of the show, leading to the Battlestars having to band together to face the threat of a united Cylon front across two realities.
Old Cylons and new Cylons together? And not the “inspired-by” old Cylons of the reboot? That’s gonna be a weird combo, but a fun one. Battlestar Galactica vs Battlestar Galactica is set to begin in 2018.
