When the Batman Ninja anime was first announced this October, a short clip was shown at New York Comic Con. Now, the animated feature’s first footage has been uploaded online, and it’s glorious.

Story writer Kazuki Nakashima (Kill La Kill) and character designer Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai) have created a Batman unlike any we’ve seen previously.

Japan and directed by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Jumpei Mizusaki, is a simple enough idea to wrap your mind around. Batman and co. are flung back through time to medieval Japan. But the few seconds of footage screened today at New York Comic Con showed that the story writer Kazuki Nakashima (Kamen Rider Fourze) and character designer Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai) have crafted is unlike any Batman story we’ve ever seen. Though the movie isn’t quite done yet ahead of its 2018 release, it’s already one of the most visually daring and astonishing Batman stories Warner Bros. has ever produced.”]
There are two teasers – one with English subtitles and one without.
Batman Ninja will be released on DVD and Blu-ray next year.

How is this trailer better than anything DC real life movies have done?!
This looks right up my alley, it’s great to have a DC property I can look forward to for a change.
I went into this ready to point and laugh over how bad this would be. I was wrong. I’m so glad I was wrong.
Looks sweet so far, my only problem with these 3D anime is the janky animation, somebody get japan some mo-cap gear and take these shows to a new level.
