Spider-Man will be out September 7, developer Insomniac Games said today. Prepare to swing webs and so on.
The upcoming superhero action game, announced at E3 2016, is a PlayStation 4 exclusive set in an open-world version of New York City. You’ll play as a 23-year-old version of Peter Parker, fighting the likes of Kingpin and Mister Negative.
Insomniac Games is perhaps best known for the Ratchet and Clank series, although in recent years the studio has released several original games, including the shooter Fuse and the Xbox exclusive action game Sunset Overdrive. If you can’t wait until September for more details, this month’s Game Informer cover story is all about Spidey.

Really hyped about this! The demo footage that came out a while ago was fantastic – looked more entertaining than the movies (which isn’t a high bar, admittedly).
Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumped!
Please be as good as Spider Man 2
Aw man. I was hoping they’d have fixed that god awful suit design by now.
That’s Venom’s logo, not Spidey’s!
It straight up looks like he has jizz on his costume.
“My spider-sense is tingling! But my spider-jizz is trickling!”
Deleted scene from Spider-man: Homecumming?
I would be very surprised if this game doesn’t have alternative costumes. I’m sure there will be a whole range of classic costumes available, and some of them might not even be paid DLC.
I hope so! Especially the non-DLC part!

Ouch – has the Resistance series been forgotten already? I know some people weren’t big fans, but i had some great fun with those games.
Fingers crossed for this Spidey Game. I love the fact that a villain called “Mr Negative” exists. I wonder if the DLC bad guy will be “Captain Obvious”.
I think you nailed it when you said Resistance wasn’t the most popular game. That said, I don’t remember Fuse being anything but mediocre.
The original trailer for FUSE was like Overwatch before anyone had thought of Overwatch (in fact wasn’t or called Overstrike?) That would’ve been a cool game
Fuse belomgs in the same tired sci-fi 3rd person shooter pile of shame drawer as Red Faction Armageddon and Quantum Theory
