Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s 3.0 update will be out on Wednesday and will add a lot to the game, even if you aren’t buying the game’s paid DLC.
Those who do pay for the add-on will be able to play as the Persona 5 character Joker and summon his persona, Arsense.
A 15-minute video from Nintendo shows the new character’s moves as well as the Persona-themed Memories stage that is part of the paid offering. Nintendo is also adding 11 songs from Persona 3, 4 and 5.
The game is also getting several new features tomorrow as part of the game’s 3.0 update. That includes a stage-builder….
… and a new video editor ….
Players will be able to view each other’s videos and download stages made by other players.
It’s Smash Bros., folks, so the video released for this is as chock-full of details as you could hope for.

Wow, stage builder looks really fleshed out.
Get excited darren because we’re not only getting Joker from Persona 5 we’re also getting a new fighting stage called Mementos and 11 new music tracks from Persona 3,4, and 5.
And also as you mentioned the Stage Builder is making a comeback since it was leaked and if you pause the YouTube video for 2-3 seconds you can see Stage Builder added in the Games & More mode.
We’re also getting Persona 3 4 and 5 spirits added along with some Extra Round 1 Mii costumes from Persona 3,4, and 5 and from Sonic the Hedgehog as well.
Now even though I’ve already purchased the Fighter’s Pass I’m keen to play as Joker and even play on the new fighting stage Mementos.
The version 3.0 update releases tomorrow so get your boxing gloves on and get ready to play as Joker.
Looking in the estore it is AU$7.80 per character or AU$32.50 for the season pass in case anyone was wondering like I was. Not sure when it is updating though, the update and Joker are not available at the time I am making this comment. Some articles I am looking at say Europe gets it a day later than the US. Not sure which region we count as. I’m not usually the one doing the updating.
Excuse me astrogirl but if you’re listening since we can’t access the Nintendo eShop or get access to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 3.0 update it’s best to remain patient while Nintendo’s server is undergoing maintenance and it should be completed at around midnight tonight.
So astrogirl you’ll have to wait until the next day which is Good Friday until the problem with Nintendo is resolved.
