About me:
Silent Hill Movie Sequel Needs To Be "More Accessible"
November 20th, 2009 at 8:51 PMJust throw a few Pyramid Heads in there, slap up a commentary, and people will be all over that.
Silent Hill is an awesome series. It’s not at all inaccessible to anyone who doesn’t completely turn off their brain in a movie. Well, at least I don’t think anyways.
Hello Final Fantasy XIII's Cactuar
November 20th, 2009 at 6:05 AMI actually rather like the first couple of digimons. At least their battle scenes are a lot better than pokemon. (And shouting “dodge it” repeatedly doesn’t put your digimon in god mode either)
Activision Exec: 'Expect' Additional, Paid Online Modes
November 16th, 2009 at 7:35 PMI have been looking for a reason to move past WoW to a greener pasture. Despite Cataclysm looking ever so delicious, I’ll go for FF14 instead just to avoid having to deal with Activision.
The Mario Suits That Were, Are And Should Be
November 13th, 2009 at 7:32 AMPanther suit–Sonic, the Wearhog.. shudder.
Propeller suit should be blue, and come with a white fanny pack.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doraemon (cute, the wiki page even has his little helicoptor thing on)
Some Old Friends Return In Valkyria Chronicles 2
November 13th, 2009 at 6:45 AMI suppose they aren’t kids anymore.
Anyway, I have only watched the anime *cringe Does Alicia actually went glowing spear wielding apeshit in the game as well?
StarCraft II Expansions, Diablo III Coming In "Next Few Years"
November 13th, 2009 at 6:41 AMYeahhh….
Coming soon for Bliz ends up taking years. I wonder how long “next few years” is going to end up taking. I’d wager about a decade or two.
Modern Warfare 2 Throat Communicator Micro-Review
November 12th, 2009 at 10:09 AMI wish this would work for my mobile phone. It’d be a hellavalot easier to listen to music during lecture, that’s for sure.. well, apart from the fact that it’s like bright green.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review: This Means War
November 11th, 2009 at 7:05 AMWhile I think those crap are excusable on console, it is intolerable on PC.
What’s the point of dropping a few grands on a PC, hoping for a great play experience, when you are held back by such technical difficulties?
I have never been a big fan of CoD, and this is the final nail in the coffin for me. I would rather stick with a dev that mistreat console port like Valve–they know where the good shit is. Hopefully they’ll never abandon their ideals.
Visually Impaired Gamer Sues Sony
November 9th, 2009 at 4:09 PMI’m facing a pretty bad conflict of interest issue.
In a way, if he wins, it will mean that we now all have the rights to demand just about anything from a game’s dev, and they are obligated to give it to us. (Buff my char!) I don’t think that’s gonna work, seeing as you already signed your life away with the ToU already.
However, I do hope game developers would take heed and put more effort into accomodating visually impaired players, so long as it doesn’t take them too much effort. I want everyone to experience my favorite games, and I want developers to be able to expand their audience. It will be a win-win situation.
Gearbox Boss: Valve Is Behaving Like Fanboys
November 9th, 2009 at 4:04 PMNah.. Valve is not a 360 fanboy.
They are PC fanboys. (And I am happy that they are). Even if they talk trash more about PS3, their action doesn’t suggest that they care about 360 either. Sure, you get the port. But where’s the patch? I still haven’t seen Blutsauger on 360. Have you?
Valve's Multiplayer Calculus: (360 = PC) > PS3
November 9th, 2009 at 4:01 PMThey did.. on a pc.
Valve is first and foremost, and will always be, pc developers. They make ports to 360 because it’s more compatible, and they don’t care to port to PS3 because ..well, they already have a big enough audience with the first two.
The fact that they didn’t even release patches for TF2 on 360 yet shows that they simply don’t care that much about the console version.
Don’t get me wrong–they make great games. They just aren’t console fans. (And imho, thank goodness it is that way. We need dedicated PC dev to keep the gaming industry as a whole going)
Harada Explains: Why Tekken Is Different From Other Fighting Games
November 4th, 2009 at 7:35 PMI would actually say that Soul Calibur still has more randomness than Tekken.
Tekken is the most static of all fighters out there because there is no combo breaker. If you fight Paul or King and they get the first punch off, you might as well drop the controller–you’re already dead.
Soul Calibur at least doesn’t deal such extreme damage, so you do have a chance to fight back.
Virtua Fighter, like many said, is the most complex of all. It has more timing and positioning than any of the other game–to a fault, in my opinion. The game is just too damn hard.
I missed Bloody Roar.
World Of Warcraft "Lacks Approval" To Operate In China
November 4th, 2009 at 7:18 PMGood one.
It’s sad that the people there wont be able to experience this wonderful game legally.
But I think banning WoW is far from being the worst offender. Even Facebook and Myspace are banned over there. Makes it hard as hell for me to contact my friends there.
Nintendo Announces Upcoming Games For Nintendo DS
October 30th, 2009 at 9:35 PMNew Golden Sun (or remake)? Sweet!
Even Kojima Productions Staffers Want To Make A New Z.O.E.
October 29th, 2009 at 7:16 AMKojima doesn’t have to make any more Metal Gear games.
I loove MG, I love ZoE.. I can’t choose!
Make both, Kojima, make ‘em both good!
Global Agenda: Two Ways To Pay; Two Ways To Play
October 21st, 2009 at 8:19 PMThe non-subscription package sounds about right for me. I’m glad there is a way to avoid all the hassle with agency/guild management and all that jazz.
Will the the non-subscribed player get all PvE contents though? (I understand that they will also get gears slower than subscribed players, but I’m not worried about that aspect)
What's The Front Of This Samurai Shodown Figure Look Like?
October 20th, 2009 at 8:08 AMWow.. I didn’t even remember what Samurai Showdown is anymore. I got it completely confused with a different game, haha.
Forced To Strip: How Games Might Teach Us More About Sex
October 19th, 2009 at 2:21 PMI think you got the right idea–it IS supposed to be a revolting and repulsive experience. I think there will end up being some sicko who gets lots of enjoyment out of it, but I think it fits the game. You want media to reflect something–to be artistic–well, here’s one.
But yeah, I’ll be steering clear of this game myself. Good art is not always appealing, and this one definitely extends quite a bit beyond my comfortable limit.
R4 Sales Get Shadier And Shadier
October 17th, 2009 at 12:24 PMThey are sold pretty much everywhere outside of Japan. I for one am rather glad it’s that way, or else I will never be able to find any game in Thailand. I would rather buy an authentic copy, but they simply don’t sell it. T-T
Can’t wait for this whole digital distribution to go full force in next gen so I don’t have to buy shitty ass pirated games anymore.
What Are You Playing This Weekend?
October 17th, 2009 at 12:21 PMLeague of Legends, baby–it’s the way of the future!
Z.O.E. Not Too Soon, Kojima "Really Considering" It
October 16th, 2009 at 6:16 AMKojima-san doesn’t have to make Metal Gear Solid any more.
Haven’t posted that in a while, but yeah.. ZoE, baby!
The Left 4 Dead 2 Boycott Is Dead
October 15th, 2009 at 12:56 PMIt definitely pushes the community-developer interaction to a new height, but I hardly think it’s something that these guys accomplished. If there is one dev in the world who would actually respond to community in this manner, it’s Valve. They have excellent track record in keeping in touch with the community, and I think this shows that they actually care.
Now let’s see these two guys try boycotting EA and see if they cares.
Real-Life Assassin's Creed Weapons Seem Like A Good Idea
October 15th, 2009 at 12:44 PMI wouldn’t walk next to an Altair or Enzio cosplayer at a con, that’s for sure.
On The Borderlands Where Shooter Meets RPG
October 15th, 2009 at 12:43 PMI guess Hellgate is very similar in idea to Borderland. The main difference is that Hellgate is a financial nightmare–Flagship had a lot of game designers, but no business manager. They didn’t fail at making the game, but rather at making it profitable. And it was a real shame, because the game had so much growth potential.
Borderland seems good to me, just because the sheer amount of customizable weapons that you can have. Anyone know if there will be more melee attacks other than punching?
Also, will each type of gun require its own ammunition, or are they all shared or what?
At any rate, I’m hyped about this game. I’ll definitely be trying it out over the end of the year (summer break here in Aus)
Want To Know New Resident Evil Movie Plot?
October 12th, 2009 at 2:12 PMIt would be good if they’d stick to the recent games. I think RE4 and 5 have good enough plot to be adapted easily into a movie, and will actually expand on the plot, rather than get bog down in the same thing over and over.
I guess Hollywood couldn’t handle Spanish and black zombies.
