A Million More Reasons Why Blanka Sucks

I’m sure it’s a familiar story. You or your friend gets a Super Nintendo with Street Fighter II. A horde of friends bumrush your house to play. One little bastard figures out Blanka’s electricity move. Then proceeds to dominate everyone before you figure out the Hadouken. Screw that kid. Ever since that day I’ve had a serious problem with Blanka, and this video just helps reinforce everything that is wrong him.

While You Were Sleeping

Another day another While You Were Sleeping. Nothing much happened overnight so you might as well twiddle your thumbs. TWIDDLE THEM!

Only 8.7% Of Those Employed In Australian Digital Games Development Are Women

Today the Australian Bureau of Statistics released a series of raw figures regarding digital game development in Australia during 2011-2012 — how many people were employed, how many games were released. There were some interesting figures, perhaps the most alarming of which was the dramatic drop in people employed in the Australian games industry, but you could argue that was expected. Another alarming number? Under 9% of developers employed are women.

Okay dokey after a day off ScribbleTaku is back. Hilariously, I ran out of post-it notes. Now I have new ones and they’re all different colours!

Why Sony Is Focusing On Indie With The PlayStation 4

Sony’s press conference was something of a coming out party for indie games, but it was really the end result of years of work. Now, in the lead up to the release of the PlayStation 4, Sony is seen as the place to be for many aspiring indies. Prestige title after prestige title — your Flowers, your Sound Shapes, your Unfinished Swans — all of these games and more have positioned Sony as a driving force in the indie space.

Off Topic: Who Wants To Live Forever?

I have this argument with people almost every other day. I genuinely believe that I will live until I’m at least 200 years old. Right now I’m 32 years old. But in 60 or 70 years time? Who knows what medical technology we’ll have at our disposal. I honestly believe I have a decent chance at living forever! Who is with me?

Sony Looking To Increase Sales Forecasts For The PS4 After E3

It’s arguable whether Sony had a successful E3 because of what it showed, or because of Microsoft’s own personal PR nightmare, but regardless, the PlayStation 4 left E3 smelling of roses and Sony is revising its projected sales targets accordingly.

Drive Club: The Visuals, The Feel And The Challenges

Serious driving games all have that moment. The moment when you spin out, or misjudge a corner. You careen into a barrier like a clumsy ice skater and your first instinct is to push the start button. Bugger it, my lap time is ruined. Might as well start again. Drive Club doesn’t want you to do that. Just keep playing, it says. Go on. Might as well. But the really cool thing about Drive Club is that it gives you half decent reason to do so.

While You Were Sleeping

Morning all, it’s time for While You Were Sleeping. We talk about the news coming in overnight and we post pics of sleeping babies. That’s how we do.
