Nintendo 3DS Australian Price Slashed: Now $249.95

We’ve been talking about the big issues surrounding the Nintendo 3DS a lot lately. From major releases being delayed to gathering dust, the 3DS is struggling to make its mark. Now Nintendo has slashed the Australian price from $349.95 to $249.95. Almost 30% cut from the price just months out from launch. For a company that is notorious for waiting until they absolutely have to before you ever see a price drop, this is a clear admission the 3DS really needs more buyers.

The Witcher 2 Modified For Australian MA15+ Release

Namco Bandai has confirmed to Kotaku that The Witcher 2 has been modified for Australian release under an MA15+ rating. The change comes after the Classification Board refused to give an MA15+ classification due to ‘sex as a reward’ appearing in one particular side quest.

Kotaku Australia Unaffected By US Hacks

It’s been in the news that Gawker in the US was hacked recently. We’d like to reassure local readers that the Australian edition sites are run on entirely separate infrastructure. AU versions of Gizmodo, Lifehacker, and Kotaku are unaffected. UPDATE: To clarify, if you have ever signed up to a US version (.com) Gawker site, you should assess whether you have been compromised. READY: R18+ Video Games Industry Disappointed By Delay

The Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (iGEA) has made a statement expressing their disappointment at the continued delay as SCAG once again pushed back a decision on adding an R18+ category to videogames. Ron Curry expressed his disappointment at another delay “despite mass support from the Australian community” but also expressed he is pleased by “the active engagement by each Attorney General at today’s meeting on the issue.” Read their full release after the jump.
