A very strange thing just happened to me, in between reading this news article and watching the latest trailer for PS3's Disgaea 3.

At the end of the trailer, there was this tagline that read (forgive my poor Japanese) that it was a SRPG that would take you 400,000 hours to fully complete.

And that's when the Wii suddenly seemed so much more enticing to me.

I'm juggling college and looking for a job, and it just occurred to me that Disgaea 3 isn't really what I want from a gaming console now. Heck, I've been a PS supporter all along, and have had my share of 360 games, but I can at least see why the Wii may seem to be so attractive to more, 'casual' gamers now.

It definitely won't hurt that it's now coming in so many yummy colours haha.

Why must I always ask the same question of, "Why doesn't this sort of thing happen here in the U.S.?" I would like to have the option to chose from a set of colors when I buy a console. Maybe when I finally decide to buy a Wii they will have these colors over here. On that note though, they should focus on getting more of them made before doing this stuff.

This is exactly what happened with the GC, they advertised right at the start that it would have all these wacky colours and then it was just purple. Years later, black, years later silver and somewhere along the line an orange one for some reason.

This was very obviously fake. I remember Nintendo said about a year ago that they wouldn't come out with new colours until their current Wii supply problems were solved.

Their supply problems persisted all throughout 2007, and has gotten worse now that Christmas is upon us. Why would they announce colours now?

I'm freaking DYING to get a black Wii; that's the main reason why I haven't bought my own yet (My brother has a Wii, so I can play his while I wait for the black one to release). Eh, hopefully NoA releases the new colors sometime soon also. And $310 for the Wii, two Remotes + Nunchuku, and a copy of Brawl? That's a badass deal right there.

BTW, does anyone have any info on the rumored DVD compatible Wii that was supposed to be released in Japan by the end of the year?

@Majorasblaze: They had an overabundance of GC that were nearly impossible to sell that's why they stayed purple for so long. It's also the reason Nintendo has been very conservative about ramping up production because they got burned pretty hard last time.

Nintendo has a habit of showing us things we cant have like the colored Wii's and Gamecube. The only console they mad that eventually came in colors was The N64. Its sorta disappointing but what can we do were just the consumer.
