Alas, my favorite cake as far as gaming cakes are concerned is still the Wind Waker cake. Others have challenged it, including this one for all of the great Sinistar memories it dredged up. But when I look at the artsmanship of the Wind Waker cake it takes the #1 spot.

Of course, that one was done by a professional... maybe I should have a "Favorite by a normal person" cake too...

Nice! Sinistar was one of my arcade guilty pleasures along with Devil's Hollow.

Almost a waste of a quarter due to the extreme difficulty, but I always had to play at least one game.

@akaBitter: The trick is to get over your fear of Sinistar. Harvest the hell out of the asteroids, grabbing as many crystals as you can, then wait for Sinistar to come to life (believe me, you'll know when it happens!). Watch the radar, and retreat when he approaches. Keep flying in a straight direction, without stopping or turning, then frantically hammer the bomb button to drop your payload directly into Sinistar's mouth. He'll die in a matter of seconds.

A good Sinistar player doesn't worry about the big guy himself... once you get the pattern down, he's cake. It's those damn tank droids that will cost you the most lives in the later stages... they dance around your ship, firing bullets that are infuriatingly hard to dodge.

Oh god... I'm so embarrassed! The photo of me used to make that cake is way outdated. I've been tanning a lot since then, had my teeth filed. And thanks to the medication, I don't indiscriminately yell at people anymore.
