The programmer in me tells me that games that support remote play will have in-game XMBs without any patches when the feature is finally turned on by Sony.

TD's started in Starcraft, actually.
There was a game in which you would use those burrowing Zergs, and various different towers/units to build defenses. From those ideas, Wintermaul on WCIII was made.

From there, the concept of TD's came around.

@Minister of Fun: If you actually had to stay in the ad havoc network to remote play, I could see you calling it pointless, but you don't, which makes it a good feature. Being able to play any PS1 game through remote play instantly makes it so that I will actually have games to play on my PSP when I get one, and, considering you can play the downloaded PS1 games, plus certain PSN games, it makes it so even if you can only carry one UMD with you, you can have several games to choose from. Once portable copy starts up, movie watching on the go will be a lot easier. And hey, even if you were only able to use it in the ad havoc network, it would be useful for people like me who have the PS3 hooked up to the family tv and can't monopolize the use of the tv.

and desktop tower defense is infinitely worse than the TDs on WC3 and SC o_O

So wait, this is a tower defense game? Ive seen it around and never really gave it a 2nd thought, but after playing and getting addicted to desktop tower defense i so need this game. AND ON TOP OF THAT, i just got remote play working on my custom firmware PSP... best news i've heard all day!

Remote play + 1 terabyte of media published via tversity, and then streamed to my psp via remote play... I dont think i'll ever get enough of remote play!

PJ MOnsters is a lot of fun, just wish it had online co-op instead of just local co-op. Haven't tested the remote play, but I read a Japanese review say that even with a small amount of lag that the game gets incredibly difficult to pick up the coins and build things in time.

Plus, it's the first TD I know of with dancing! Dancing!

Speaking of remote play. I've been messing around with it for a week and it is incredibly legitimate. If you have a desktop/laptop with Tversity installed it's possible to stream all of your media files in on-demand fashion to your PSP. HD content on the PSP looks amazing, even over wifi.

Pixel Junk Monsters is now available on the Hong Kong PSN store for about $5 and it's in English. The game is addictive and remote play is extremely cool. If you can't wait till next week I suggest downloading it. Definitely worth the money. Huzzah!!!

@Shindokie (psn and xbl): I like Variety and the PSN has it. Fair enough a lot of XBLA games are classics and I would love to see not just PSone classics on there. I wouldn't mind some of the remade stuff for Live on the PSN but I do like the new content the PSN has been getting.

Echochrome is my most anticipated game of this year. Okay, your probably wondering why I want it so much. It looks unique itself, looks very challenging for a puzzle game and its completly new content for the store.

Anyways, I will get PixelJunk Monsters next week. That and Burnout Paradise next week...sweet!
