It's a pity that Advent Rising as a game flunked, because I loved the soundtrack that Tallarico composed for it. Other than that, I can't really see any outstanding recent soundtracks that I know well.

I won't judge him because TV always has that bias, and reading text interviews with him always felt a little more humble and less ridiculous than his TV appearances. Dubious award, nonetheless.

Tallarico can seem pretty arrogant at times, especially when showing off his Lamborghinis, but he's actually pretty cool. I used to frequent his site and he took a lot of interest in helping people get into the biz, even actually providing expensive legal forms and guidance right off his site. That strikes me as pretty genuine.

@fuchikoma: nah dotto's data cafe had more cred than tommy. steve's only crime was being too simple with certain things, you have to remember tho he was doing an "intro to computers" show, so steve had to do and say stupid things for the lay person to get what he was saying, dave chalk was the same way BUT he tried to be correct with things

on a side note about dotto's data cafe, i did meet steve dotto once at comdex, well ok meeting as in "hey is that steve dotto?" "yeah i think so" "wanna go meet him and say hi?" "nah" "ok hey look who's over there"

tommy was just stupid, he'd give everything a min of a 6 score, like are all games that good? and he'd score some really good games horribly.

There isnt a single good thing I can say about that douchebag Tommy Talliretard... Electric Playground was possibly the most obnoxious and insipid 'review' show out there, and just because someone's a 'gamer' doesn't mean their opinions are gospel. I will refrain from the usual expletive-and-ethnic slur-laden tirades I normally spout when that pompous ass comes up in conversation, but I gotta say, he's only famous because of his familial ties to G4. He's a mediocre musician at best and as a human being he is so full of fail and stupid we as the gaming public should weep that he might even have the slightest influence over someone's opinions.
Watching him try to 'review' a game is painful because he just keeps broadcasting how utterly ignorant and almost spectacularly moronic he is.

Having met Tommy Tallarico I will say the following.

He's not a bad guy, he's actually really nice and generally accomodating to fans and gamers alike. He's a little stuck up, sure, but then he's filthy stinking rich so it's to be expected. However, he drops names at a rate of about three per sentence. "Oh yeah, I was hanging out with _____ at a party at _____'s place in Hollywood. ______ was also there, we're like best buds."

A little annoying, but he is generally a really nice guy.
