Everyone's Nintendo Channel U.S. Bound Soon
Posted by Brian Crecente at 2:20 AM on February 8, 2008
Rumor has it that Everyone's Nintendo Channel, that channel that will be packed with Nintendo-flavored infomercials, some insider interviews, video and DS downloads, will be hitting the U.S. in the next month or so.
A source tells us that the channel will also be home to some of the same sort of video game centric videos found on Xbox Live and the Playstation Network. Specifically, convention videos might start popping up on the channel once it goes live in the states. It's unclear if Nintendo will follow the same path as Microsoft, and now Sony, and start producing their own material from show floors or just rely on pre-packed stuff from the hosts themselves.

Awesome. I was such a huge Wii supporter ever since it was announced and up until a few months ago, once I realized I hadn't played any games on it minus Trauma Center New Blood since pretty much launch.
Come on Nintendo. Let this be the first step to making the Wii exciting again.

Shit. I forgot all about this channel. Just like all the others Nintendo have released over the past year. I don't know why they're so slow to roll these channels out. This one would actually be useful and cool if the content was updated on a regular basis and if third parties had access to it, so they could add their own content and stuff.

They need a "find other people to play with channel" cause i am not typing in every freaking friend code in existence just to play with people.

Heck yeah! I'm so excited for this I can't even tell you. Walking into Target with my DS at 28 years old for a little demo is just not an option for me at this point.

I bet the channel will come to the rest of the world at the same time, just with different content for each since release dates of games vary.
But I have an R4 so it doesn't really affect me too much, but I know since my brother has his own Wii he'll probably use it a lot more.

I've been looking forward to this for a while, but I don't know why we haven't had DS demos over wi-fi. I would have been happy to download a software or firmware update to do this.
Now we just have to wait for a Nintendo Club for registering all those games.

The Gamestop near my house had their DS kiosk near the front door. I used to drive up late at night, park right next to the door and download DS demos while sitting in my car.
So this is welcome news for me, but a bit too late. I have an R4 now.

I can't wait for this. I'm excited to get on and see a tiny bit of new content pop up every 3 months or so. And that new content will be a Wii Fit trailer or something...

I'd really like to be able to download Virtual Console games onto the DS, but that would require some sort of commercially available memory storage and invite too much piracy. And given that 90% of Americans already pirate DS games...

Very cool. I took my DS to a store once to try and download the demos, but it could never find the network, even when standing directly in front of the DS display case. It'll be nice to be able to get this stuff at home now instead.

I hope nintendo really steps it up online. Now that I have a 360 I don't even bother connecting online with the Wii, besides, my Wii is too busy chopping heads off in No More Heroes, WHAT A FUN GAME! People that still groan about Nintendo being a kiddie system need to be smacked upside the head with No More Heroes.
It'd be cool if they made a lobby room to visit with your Mii and implemented an achievement system like the 360. I'm not an achievement whore for reputation, but they motivate me to dig into the games more than I may have previously.

DS downloads? Finally a reality? I wonder what range of DS games will available to sample from.
The rest of the channel...well...since E3 dies for me a couple of years ago - I don't have the interest in any of the videos....unless they are top secret...nay....super top secret lab videos of new games.
Now to decide what page on my Wii this gets to live, page one....or later down the line?

Spiffy! I'd like the DS downloads. There's nowhere around here that has any of the download stations... the Wal-Mart nearby should, but they're a bitch and don't have theirs set up.
Sounds spiffy. Glad to see Nintendo conforming. ;)

Resistance is futile. Wii will be assimilated.
Sorry, couldn't help myself there. Anyway, Nintendo should really have brought it over to the U.S. sooner. There are tons of games that I'd love to try, but there are no download stations where I live in the few game stores nearby, and I'm not willing to spend $35 on a game that I know absolutely nothing about other than what a few self-proclaimed reviewers who seem to care more about money than whether a game is good or not. Free demos are always a good way to adertise to people like me sitting on the fence trying to decide whether to get a game or not, so why the hold-up, Nintendo?
