@mrrobsa: It's pronounced "you-beat".

@globones: I'm also getting a very 'visceral' idea of the gameplay mechanics. I mean Ju..beat? Oy ve. I'd be offended if I could stop giggling.

Ooh, Action Deka looks good. 2-player Mocap Boxing-style gameplay on rails?

....do you pronounce the 'J' in Jubeat? It just sounds a bit...'Mel Gibson', shall we say.

Nice cabinet.
Really fancy looking they are... And will never see the day of light in America, because people would ruin them in a matter of days (I kid you not...).

Daimacculate-
I think the one you think is boxing is really a "Streets of Rage" type game.

Maybe we'll finally get some videos of jubeat . . . and some idea of how it's supposed to be played!

It almost makes me want to cry that we're 7 years into the 21st century and I have zero interest in one game on Konami's latest and greatest arcade hardware...
Maybe the game in Pic 4, is that boxing? Still.

I've been watching Jubeat since they did test runs a while ago. Doesn't look that impressive next to Beatmania, but I'm still really eager to get a better look at it.

There really haven't been any details given on jubeat (pronounced you-beat) yet. I'm sure more will be posted once AOU actually starts.

@ncsbert: Yep, it's Bemani, I haven't found any proper info on it so far, but there is something reminiscent of a manual page here:

Doesn't say much though.

Last year the lineups for Beatmania/Pop'n Music/GFDM was well over an hour and they only let people play ONE SONG. I had no idea. I stood in line for 80 min thinking I could get 3 or 4 songs of Beatmania in, but no, ONE song. 80 min of waiting for 2 min of fun.
I missed the location test for jubeat when it was held a couple months ago in Machida. Really not sure if I'm going to AOU this year...
@ncsbert:
Yes, it's the latest addition to the BEMANI series.

How is Jubeat played, where'd they get the name from, and is it technically Bemani?

I would be really intrigued to try a lot of these games out, especially jubeat and byon byon daisakusen. Curse not living anywhere near anywhere that would carry games like that!

The Japanese always seem to have really fancy/nice cabinets. Do they not beat the shit out of them in Japan because they sure do here in the States?

The Quiz show game looks promising. My gf and I would always play the trivia game at D&B and rack up tickets whenever we go. I question the mental condition the lead designer of the chicken gun game when he came up with that.
