Puzzle Quest: Galactrix Gallery
Posted by Flynn De Marco at 2:00 AM on February 28, 2008
The announcement of the new Puzzle Quest game, Galactrix has fans of the original game all aflutter. So to add to the excitement, I present you with this gallery of screen shots and some of the space ship concept art. I'm really liking the slick interface and the improved challenge of the "gravity" based movement of the pieces is going to make it one brain twister of a game.

AWESOME - Puzzle Quest was one of my favorite games for the DS. Well, when it wasn't my most hated game, like when I was playing on the 7 train and instead of dealing a killing blow, the train bounces and I move the wrong way. Where the game should have just said it was an illegal move, doing so dealt ms an assload of damage while leaving my opponent said killing blow to deliver against me.

They swear on a stack of bibles it doesn't cheat. Here's one of the developers.

I am a bit tentative that they are moving to a hex design, but they have earned the benefit of the doubt with me; I would probably consider Puzzle Quest as my game of the year. A hex design is a dealbreaker when it is a strategy game (Advance Wars, yes; Conflict, no), but I will give it a chance with puzzles. I will definitely get the DS version because stylus is the way to go with puzzles.

Oh, they switched from ripping off bejeweled to ripping off hexic. ;) But Puzzle Quest rocks anyways!

I'd prefer it on my DS than on my PSP. Stylus is the way to go in ze puzzles. Too bad that concept art looks really well rendered and will just end up looking like crap on the DS...

Yeah I love this game. I cringe to think it may be more expensive than the last one version though.

I bet if they droped the price of the original on XBLA it would get more people excited for the new one! Hint hint!

@pylon_trooper: It's not being released on the PSP. Sorry =(
@deejaybd: I was just speculating in the previous post as to why, if any reason they'd omit the PSP. They haven't confirmed a PSP release, and the official website lists: PC, Xbox 360 Live Arcade and Nintendo DS.
Perhaps someone with *cough* press credentials could ask them to comment? hint hint, nudge nudge, say no more.

@Dogysamich: I agree, it becomes very obvious that the AI opponent has an omnipotent view of the future peices.

flutter, flutter.
Looks nice. I actually played Warlords just yesterday. For being a basic Bejeweled game, it gets VERY irritating when you lose trying to win a rune.

I thought they weren't going to port this to the PSP due to the bugs they encountered on the warlords puzzle quest.. Did they confirm that its getting a PSP release?

Can't wait for this one! I'm thinking my PSP is going to suffer a work-related breakdown soon, with all the playing it's getting.

I still don't know why they won't release this, or the original Puzzle Quest on PSN.

This game looks entertaining, the first Puzzle Quest was deceptively addicting.
