Great, better sniper accuracy. Just what the game didn't need. Already my biggest gripe is a team full of snipers who make the game into a boring camp fest where you can't survive after spawn for more than three seconds.

I wonder if they've ever considered putting a limit on the number of weapon classes per team?

I don't know what world of crack they live in. I always play on Live with a group of my best mates and our party seems to be always matchmade against people of far lower skill so we tend to win 90% of the time. Halo just seems to be so much better when it comes to this.

I think it was explained on a MajorNelson podcasts about true skill. Matchmaking is either fast and inacurate or slow and acurate. CoD4 appears to throw you in any old game whereas Halo does take it's time. Although it's good in cod where it's nice and quick to get into a game. I just got really bored of being incorrectly matched.

Sadly, my 360 is in the hospital after suffering its second RRoD, so I won't be able to try out these new updates. They have every other mode in the world, why don't they make a no airstrike/helicopter/perk mode aka "You'll need real skill to play this mode"...mode.

If you watch the show 'Chuck' on a regular basis you can see Call of Duty 4 being played by Chuck's friend Morgan and ads for it in the Buy More. I'm glad the shows cast are real gamers and it helps that its a funny well written show. Time to patch COD4 and get me some G3 headshots.

There's no indication that they do. Ranking is based on how many points a player has accumulated over time, not a win-loss formula.

A fine reason why Halo 3 is the premier (casual?) competitor's FPS. Great matchmaking, no perks for vets, just good old, well-balanced fun. :)

@greeble: Doing well?!? They promised this patch in December, it's taken pretty much until march to get it into the hands of 360 owners and even longer for ps3. They patched the pc version a number of times for gameplay issues but it's taken forever for consoles. They've improved a number of things but still the matchmaking is critically flawed when it comes to putting players of equal TrueSkill together.

I love CoD4 but I really was getting sick of the random matchmaking and corner camping that I'm giving it a rest for a while and gone back to Halo 3.
