Double Fine's Scott C. To Autograph Alternate King of Kong Cover
Posted by Flynn De Marco at 7:20 AM on March 21, 2008
The folks behind I am 8-Bit, the art show featuring works based on video games, is holding an event this Saturday in Alhambra, CA. On hand will be Double Fine Productions' art director Scott C. who will be personally be autographing prints of his alternate DVD cover for the documentary, King of Kong: Fist Full of Quarters. The print is a nice sized 18 x 24 inches and will sell for a paltry $20. It's a pretty cool piece and having the autograph of someone who worked on Psychonauts would be pretty freaking sweet. You can go get your signed copy of the dvd and or print at Gallery Nucleus, 210 East Main Street Alhambra, CA. The event will go from 7 - 11pm and will feature such exciting extras as free booze and a Donkey Kong high score tournament with prizes.

Good flick. Just watched this this week. It does make Billy M look like an evil conniving guy. Wonder far off the mark this is.

Wish I could get a copy.. I JUST watched this movie a day or two ago, and I made sure to flip the dvd cover to the collectible artwork side before I sent it back to the video store =).
Movie was amazing, I loved it btw.

I love Scott C. His section of the Double Fine Action Comics is awesome (the rest, not so much!). Knight and Strong Man need their own game, stat.

It's nice to see that it is in somewhere else other than the boonies in LA somewhere that and Alhambra is a shorter drive for me too.

I just might go. Cuz, you know, free booze. Plus, I haven't been to an art gallery in... oh, wait, I live in an art gallery.
That is a nice piece, though. I would love to check out all the other stuff. Fantastic movie, King of Kong was.
@Erwin: Get a swing in there for me!

I went to the last event this gallery hosted, it featured the art of Blizzard. It was an excellent show. If this show is anywhere near as good its a completely worthwhile trip.

I was surprised how entertaining this movie was.
On another note, how is it possible for I am 8-bit to sell there paintings anyways. Aren't most of them full of copyrighted characters?
