Get all old school top down style with these swanky new screens from 1942: Joint Strike. A few years and some schmancy HD graphics have really treated this franchise well. Alternative universe World War II never looked so good!

@Eltigro:
Why a PS3? Why not a next gen console in general.
And yes, this is great news as I loved 1942 when I was younger. I just hope they improve the music as it was just horrible.

This is the best reason yet to buy a PS3.
There's a video on Gametrailers.com, too. I recognized some music from the NES version of 1943. One of my favorite games.
I got it for my NES on Ebay. Then bought an NES Advantage joystick just for it. Don't use the Advantage with any other of my NES games.

I remember playing 1942 and 1943 on emulators and dropping lots of quarters on 19XX in my High School days. This looks pretty sweet.

@ME55ENGER: one problem with doing an HD upgrade to a retro arcade game- realistic terrains slapped on to a game that featured airplanes the size of a football field.

Looks fantastic. Capcom is gonig all-out with these remakes. Look like we'll have pelnty more "Prince of Persia classi/Pac Man CE/Jetpac refueled-level remakes to look forward to.
I love you XBLA.

Catchiest NES music of all time, followed by Bionic Commando and Zelda.

Presenting the FSW (forward swept wing) X29.
It'd require a lot more technical knowhow than they had in 1942, but its entirely possible. FSW designs are a bit unstable, which makes them great fighters and now usually, bombers, lol.

@ME55ENGER: You can flip it over to hit it for MASSIVE DAMAGE. It flies the whole time. Capcom likes to piss of engineers.

I was going to complain about this being another retro war game, but this looks quite nifty!!
