The new Weezer song sounds kind of lame =(. I know it's just a remix, but their last album TOTALLY sucked, I was surprised Weezer could make such terrible music.

@Kinburn: They were trailers, most likely to show off the soundtrack more than anything. There is plenty of in-game footage all over the place, just do a search for it.

I also say Meh not enough in game footage. The trailer looked 98% replay after the race. I play racing games not re-watch my race. Needs more in cockpit footage because that's all I'll see 99% of the time I play this game.

That weezer song sounds like something you'd drive around listening to while cruising for frat boys. That song is so wussy I can't watch that video. I usually turn the music off on race games anyways. It gets in the way of the engine and environmental noises.

I hope GT5 is decent because GT4 was awful. I think GT3 had better road feel and driving sensation to it.

These trailers leave a very "meh" taste in my mouth. I used to swear by the GT series, having completed all the games, but by the time I got to the end of GT 4, I was frankly kinda tired of the games in general. I really want to like GT 5, but I need something a bit more to get my juices going.

Both bands are great, but in all honesty Weezer and Mars Volta just don't come to mind when I think of racing music. I think they should have picked harder tracks for the game, as they would have been more motivational while driving. Hopefully they'll include an mp3 player in the game and let you import your own tunes.

2nd vid at -00:31, I noticed it in the demo thinking they would change it later, but the damn grass is still 2 polygons stretching... does this not bother anybody else? Everything else in the game looks so damn real, then you gotta have PS1 level grass...
I know it's a close up, but if they are gonna put a camera there for replay, just don't show the low poly grass w/ blew up grass texture on the ground...
That grass destroys the whole thing for me every time I put it on replay... Hopefully I'm not the only one feeling this way so maybe it would be addressed to Polyphony for them to reposition the replay camera, or just simply stack more grass polygons there, or something else to make it look better than that.

to be honest, i never paid attention to the music because my old tv back in the day only had one speaker until 2002 when i finally got a stereo tv. and even then i usually turned the music off and the sound up and put my own music on in the background as it was usually a better motivator.

....i'll probably do the same this time too.

Looks great, sounds terrible. Until we get "Chips Ahoy" by the Hold Steady on there, I won't care about the music I'm driving too. I've always muted the music on previous GTs anyway.

I don't like it (the remix) for the same reason I didn't like Televators, Quarantined, and Non-Zero Possibility. It just doesn't capture the energy of Volta/ATDI at all, and thats what I listen to them for: creativity and energy.

Man is that the only way to drive around hairpins? I watched 5th gear sometimes and that is all they do through the hairpins. Is that the only way to keep it on the road!?

Seems like you would lose speed if you didn't follow your line correctly. I never had to do this on GT or Forza before and I've never seen anyone else do this either. Not even The Stig has done this ( that I'm aware of).

Is this a new trend in track racing? Has duriftoo seeped into regular old racing?

Also : drifting is soo hard to do in Forza. I swear the game is just not as good as making me feel like the rubber is hitting the road. Like it's on ice all the time. But I still love both games , just GT a lot more. Basically any racing game I love.

Can't wait. My PS3 has been off for months.

I'm pretty excited to let it rip out there on the GT tracks again, but I must say, both those song selections felt a little jilted set against stylized digital cars in motion. They just don't quite fit. And while I do love me some Weezer, and at times some Mars, I don't equate them with driving, even in remixed form.

Maybe I'm in the minority about it, but there's just far better tracks to be played, that fit flying across a roadway better than those two. Which begs the question, I haven't seen it yet, but has it been reported whether or not GT: Prologue will support customized music tracks? Or is that just wishful thinking?
