GT5 Prologue & Bundle Priced, Dated For Europe
Posted by Luke Plunkett at 10:45 PM on March 11, 2008
SCEE have announced a pair of release dates and a price for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue's European launch. The Blu-Ray version of the game will hit stores on March 28, while the downloadable version will arrive a day earlier as part of the week's PSN update. Those worried there will be discrepancies between the version's needn't, as the only difference is one comes in a box and one doesn't. The game will retail for ₤25/€40, and is joined by the GT5 PS3 bundle (₤300/€400) we mentioned the other week, which will also be appearing on March 28. Presser follows if you're at all interested.

@Kinburn: Dual Shock 3 hasn't even been announced for PAL territories, has it? That would be why.
Perhaps MGS4 will be bundled with a DS3 come June.

Dual Shock 3 isn't even dated for sale for Europe. Let alone for sale in 3 weeks. That's why there is no Dual Shock 3 in the bundle. Same questions every time.

@Kinburn: because there'll be thousands of people that'll buy it without looking at the fine print, and of those that do get tricked most likely 90% of them will just give up and buy a Dualshock. Just be grateful that you're not a small-scale game shop owner in Japan -- they were compensated for price cuts of systems by being given Sixaxis controllers equivalent to the cost difference, at a time when DualShock3's were already being distributed through retail channels.

Why would they include a Sixaxis and not a Dual Shock 3? If your going to dod a bundle do it right.

No price for PSN version, I see. I'm guessing £19.99, the same as Warhawk.
I've got the BD version pre-ordered for £17.99, I'm eschewing the joys of a disc-swap free, anytime XMB launch for the extra HDD space I'll save myself.

I have the Japanese version on Blu Ray and despite getting that version to save HDD Space, it forces the install onto your HDD and a result will take up about 4-5GB

Releasing a GT5 bundle without a vibrating controller is outrageus. What the hell is SCEE thinking? is it possible that they sill have a huge stack of old controllers waiting to be sold??

@JaxMyth: It looks like a SIXAXIS but it does this shaking thing. I hear they had to go back in time to a period known as "Last Gen" to acquire the technology required.

Are you positively sure there's no difference between disk and download version? That's what they say about warhawk and peeople who had the download were screwed as they can only play from 1 user account on the same machine.

@Balance_In_Life (PSN): Yeah it's really, really generous of Sony to expect them to pay for now obsolete controllers, less than a month before the new ones launch.

Heh sorry for the triple post but i just noticed something.
I remember the day I won my first PS2. This box just reminded me how excited I was when I got the PS2/GT3 Bundle. I remember trembling opening up the package!
Heh sorry just thought I'd toss that in.

Kidding of course! I glad they get something first for once!

This will sell like crack over there. Hate to sound fanboyish (real word?) here but maybe MS's recent price drop is being put there early to soften this blow.
This is gonna a huge year for Sony world wide. Kinda like when PS2 took the training wheels off.
