It's Kotaku Travel Survey Time! (...The Hell?)
Posted by Michael McWhertor at 11:20 AM on March 6, 2008
Hey, Kotaku faithful! We need your help on an off-topic task. Since we regularly travel to locations 'round the globe in search of passed out booth babes, hands-on time with Japanese cell phone games and the odd zero G space flight, we do a lot of flying. We're trying to figure out who's doing the flying thing well, which necessitates a survey and the opinions of lots of Kotakuite brains. Here's the survey, if you feel like helping us out. In addition to infinite gratitude, you may win a $US 100 American Express gift card, allowing you to buy five copies of Cruis'n.

Taking a wild guess this isn't valid for Aussies.

From what I've been told by Crecente, all Kotaku US competitions are open to international entrants unless otherwise specified.

Why wasn't Hooters Air one of the main options?

@wisconsinista: 2 airlines- ANA and JAL. Don't think you'll be finding any attractive flight attendants on US-based airlines anymore.
On that subject- why can't I select "Other"? I certainly wouldn't fly with any of those options given a choice (unfortunately, as I mostly go Shanghai-Nashville -long story-, I have to take the last Chicago-Nashville leg on United- ugh).

What does it matter? I sent a tip regarding some TRUE next-gen entertainment (Condemned 2: Bloodshot) and it was entirely ignored. I guess rubbing the sweat off of some sexy guy on a poorly conceived DS game was more noteworthy. Or maybe I'm just being bitter, seeing as how I spent over an hour trying to provide Kotaku with some real news its readers could use.

@Michael McWhertor:
I fly United a lot too (but had to pick another). Of course everything is skewed with me. I have flown 2 times in the past month (because of job interviews) and will be flying again in a couple of weeks for another. I normally only fly at Christmas time and once in the summer.

I flew to Austria last year for business on Lufthansa and the service was very nice. I'd recommend it for the Leipzig/Cologne/whatever conferences.

There's no way to submit an "other" in question 8.2

Survey taken. Like everybody else said, the glitch on the preferred airline is going to probably result in some mixed up results. I wrote in Virgin America; even though they don't serve Austin yet, I'd love to fly with them most of all. Checked American, though.

@Michael McWhertor: I put American on that one, because I always fly United but VERY occasionally on American. And even less occasionally on ANA for domestic flights in Japan, but that's only happened a few times. (I got to fly on the Pokemon plane though!)

Slight error with that survey, whenever i try to type in an answer under other, it says that it doesnt count as an answer. In other words, you HAVE to choose one of the options even when none apply and you provide your own...

I filled out the survey to be of help to the site, but you weren't kidding when you said it was off topic.

There was an option to choose international flights for the type of flight you take, but then the next question asked for airlines you'd fly and they were all domestic. "the hell?" indeed.
I then tried to write in "ANA" under "other" and it wouldn't let me.
Bah.

Ever since we switched from "stewardess" to "attendant" the looks have fallen waaaay off. Until looks improve I vote we switch back to stewardess. I've even noticed there are straight guys running up and down the aisles which is way too freaky for me.
