Jade? Jade?! No, No. What Is Patrice Working On?
Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 2:00 PM on March 28, 2008
While others focused on Ubisoft producer Jade Raymond before Assassin's Creed, we were always wonder what the game's Creative Director Patric Desilets was doing, how his beard was and when he was going to accept our friend requests. In a recent interview with game site Game Daily, Ubisoft honcho Yves Guillemot says this about Patrice:
Jade Raymond and Patrice Desilets and the entire Assassin's Creed development team did an excellent job to create the game.BUT WHAT IS PATRICE WORKING? We are saddened that Yves Guillemot knows this, and he will not tell us. Bastard.I view Jade as a very skilled and creative producer, the success of Assassin's Creed leaves no doubt about that and the attention she received from the media is due to the anticipation, buzz and quality of the game. She's currently working on a new project but it's a little too early to share more about it.

"the attention she received from the media is due to the anticipation, buzz and quality of the game."
Someone is delusional. I'm sure it is a fine game from what I hear, but this isn't why her face was plastered all over.

@frostcircus: Very much a bullshot of the beard - but with the new dynamic facefollicles engine they'll get something approximately as good without a noticeable dip in the fps.

He is incredibly hot. I'm surprised no one made a vulgar comic about him.

@Crawl to China: It's an artist's rendering; his beard doesn't show up on film

judging by the photo, I'd say it's doing pretty well. unless that is an outdated photo. I'm sure he takes good care of it though.

I honestly want to know what Patrice is doing. He is the embodiment of all that is good at Ubisoft.

Jade, why did you betray me with great core mechanics, but terrible missions?

@Spartan1308: Haha, you beat me to that joke. Well done.
Personally, I can think of two reasons to explain the attention she received... four if you're also an ass-man.

Really? Because it played like shite to me.

@code.monkey: Each cheek counts as their own reason? Is her ass really that great? I don't think I've ever seen it before.

I'm hoping that early project is Assassin's Creed 2... The story was awesome (in my opinion) and I can't wait for the next game. And how they'll even do the next game since the mission design seems like it'll be radically different after this...

I have to be honest and say that this has always bothered me. Patrice was the genius behind Assassin's Creed, and yet Jade had gotten all of the attention. When taking into account that she was a "Producer" on the game and didn't really add much to the project, it really does make you think that Ubisoft just threw her out there because she looks halfway decent.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to what Patrice will do next.

I think I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed the game. I'm not anal about getting 100% of everything so perhaps the fact that I only did as much of the side-mission type stuff as I could be bothered with made the whole experience less tedious.
Once you got the sword-fighting mechanic down (and chaining the combos efficiently) I thought it was a pretty decent combat engine, and it goes without saying the free-running stuff was awesome.
That said, I didn't really dig the ending. It was a giant tease and then... credits.

Assassins Creed had to have been one of the worst games last year. I hate how Ubisoft talk about their game and can't get in to any specifics, almost as if they've never played their own games and just continue to hype well past release.

I liked the promise of Assassin's Creed, but with GT5:P out I now realise that in truth it was Assassin's Creed : Prologue - as in we have a short version of the full game that will give you real feel for what it promises but it will be short on content.
The only difference is Ubisoft cheekily charged full price for their prologue after hiring someone to spend an evening sticking flags all over the place to extend the 'replay value'...
Oh, and unless a games Producer is way different from a film Producer I don't care what Jade's doing. I want to know what the creative lead is doing.

Assassin's Creed and Uncharted were my favorite games last year. Screw the haters!

I thought the parkour control system was great in Assassins Creed, just tighten up the fighting aspect, and give us some variety on the missions and it will be great. The first game had so much potential, but it felt like they spent so much time developing the cities and smooth parkour controls that they forgot to create any kind of varied mission tree.
I might have liked it less if I had spent $60 on it, but I rented it from GameFly. Beat it in less than a week after a handful of gaming sessions and sent it back. Fun rental, but I'm glad I don't own it.

Assassin's Creed was a good game. not A++ material like i was hoping for, but i still enjoyed playing through.
didnt like the "2 Altairs" bug though. its kind of cool but ruined the atmosphere of the game and also made it harder to get past that part if your clone got stuck on a wall or something.

Assassin's creed is pure garbage. The climbing sections require absolutely no skill at all.
"Hold down the right button and press towards a wall."
No skill required! Hell, i don't even need to let go of the button!
I could do the same thing by putting the banana on top of a shelf and watching a chimp climb up.

@poduski: just ask rule 35 and you will have it.. hot female gamer figures get an automated internets response of rule 35 without the need for asking, applies to hot traps.
Also Assassin's Creed was a great game, I got pretty engrossed while playing it and really liked the story.. it provided a lot of an entertainment for someone like me from the middle east.. I made a lot of connections with it.

assassin creed was a good game but so overrated ... a little bit like the halo series . Ubisoft are good to create buzz around normal/boring games !
