Kotaku Originals: From Gygax to Our First Review
Posted by Brian Crecente at 2:00 AM on March 9, 2008
It was a pretty packed week here at Kotaku Tower. We managed to roll out our first review under a new system we created to cut through the BS. Gary Gygax, creator of Dungeons and Dragons, passed away quietly in his home. We clued readers in on Larry Nivens' new game and liveblogged the unveiling of Gizmonodo 2.0... which sounds surprisingly similar to Gizmondo 1.0. Oh and don't forget everyone and their mother is now making iPhone games.
Hit the links to read our originals, if you missed out this week.

I've just come back from a week on holiday (I stupidly tried to ski down a black piste in heavy fog and fell quite a ways down an Alp, if you were wondering)
Anyway, it is handy to have the best of the week condensed for my perusal.
But...I have to be honest, the idea of Kotaku doing reviews worries me slightly. Without going into too much detail, Kotaku along with a few bigger sites (IGN etc...) was already being badmouthed by another minor gaming site, the rumour is that people took advertising money for Turning Point, in return for holding off with the bad reviews of just how awful this game is.
I come to Kotaku because I trust Crescente and his band of merry (but essentially honest) pirates.
The sad truth is though, it's not enough to be clean, you have to also appear to be clean, tread carefully Kotaku.

Great week in Kotaku, great week in gaming.
Why you gotta be so sick Kotaku? I think all the other gaming websites are getting jealous, its like Men among Boys.

Ah, another good week at Kotaku, minus the sad news of Gary's passing. Looking forward to the weekend and the upcoming week....that is if people aren't too busy playing Brawl.

Indeed the Army of Two review was cool.
Will be looking foward to more reviews!
I finally have the game and do enjoy it quite a bit. Trying to get all of the SP achievements currently. I think I only got 3 left.
Then gotta get the MP ones.

I really liked the Army of Two review and I'd love to see more short and to the point reviews like that.
However, Ashcraft's Wiifit "review" was awesome, one of my favourite originals so far, so please remember you don't have to be short and concise on all reviews :)
