Vicki Vale. Vi-Vi-Vicki Vale.
Check out the trailer to the upcoming game. Complete with mock-serious voiceover guy, a tight-rope waddling Penguin and Vicki Vale. Actually I have no idea if Vicki Vale is in it - those LEGOs all look the same to me - but couldn't pass on her very lovely image.
This game looks good but I can only hope that this isn't the ONLY good batman game in development right now. I hope the rumors are true and that Pandemic isn't making a piece of trash based on the upcoming Dark Knight movie.

I honestly think they should take existing game franchises and make them into Lego games. Lego Tomb Raider would be the best of the series. Lego Zelda would be better than Twilight Princess I am sure. Lego Mega-Man? Imagine the possibilities...

@Number41: Does this make you happier (sure, it's a custom design, but I based it on the scale of his B:TAS incarnation)? Oh yeah, and Penguin has shorty legs, but the drawback is that they're not articulated.
I agree this looks awesome, but it's weird how all the characters have to have the same size body proportions. I uderstand that's how Lego people are, but still... Batman, Robin, Harley, and Killer Croc all the same size? Gonna take some getting used to.
That said, I haven't purchased a Batman game since Konami's Batman Returns on SNES, but that's sure to change once September rolls around.

@Gouki4u: Weirder yet were some of the "actions" they built into LEGO Star Wars 2. If you played as Slave Leia and pushed the Force button, she'd do a little belly dance routine. Gammorrean guards would start doing an air guitar routine with their axes, and if you tried to attack anything with Lando when he was standing next to Leia, he'd lean her back and start kissing her.
@FranUnFine: He featured quite prominently in Batman: The Animated Series 15 years ago, and he was released in the first wave of LEGO Batman sets. In fact, so far the only villain I've seen in any of the pre-release material that you can't buy is Harley Quinn, and she's due out this summer. Gordon and the cops aren't stock minifigs either, but they appear to be more or less buildable using stock parts (Gordon might need a different color jacket to get the tie and badge combo, and I didn't really catch the design on the cop torsos).
@RRRansom: I think you already missed it. Drew was mentioned when Crecente said Flynn was vacating the weekend post.
@Weirdwolf: Clayface and Hush haven't been produced as minifigs, so I'd give them fairly slim odds of showing up. Ivy came out in the Arkham set, and Bane was in the recent Bat-Tank set, so they're a lot more likely. So far the villains that they've alrady got designs for include Catwoman, Croc, Two-Face (and goons), Joker (and goons), Penguin (and penguins), Mr. Freeze (and goons), Riddler, Poison Ivy, Scarecrow, Bane, and Harley Quinn. For any other villains, they'd need to get The LEGO Company to release official designs or risk having them not match if they ever use them in actual sets.
As for the Star Wars crossover, I wouldn't be shocked if they let you unlock a character or two, but this game will likely have several different game mechanics that weren't available in the LSW trio, and the same would hold for the LIJ game. While Freeplay mode will automatically make sure you have at least one character with every skill package that you've unlocked, they'd have to code in all the game mechanics from any previously used properties every time they add a new one to the library.
@GARlock: Not an official minifig yet (if ever), but at least this time they wouldn't be able to mispronounce his name like Liam Neeson did.
Damn, this looks so awesome. Lol @ kissy kissy Catwoman and Robin going 'Eww, girls!'. For a family-friendly franchise, the Lego games have a pretty anarchic sense of humour.
I swear I'm a slave to these Lego games. First Star Wars, next Indiana Jones, and finally Batman...What's next, Lego Matrix???

Why is the announcer that does all the GameTap game promotions in this trailer? Anyway, the game looks great! I might have to rent this & Lego Indiana Jones! Families(mostly parents) are going to eat this thing up!!
I wonder when they say the "everybody" has escaped it includes clayface, bane, ivy and hush? is there a list of characters floating around? I do hope it includes some of the more modern additions like Harley. Hmm maybe Zsasz might not make an appearance. It would be great if they allowed the characters unlocked in the Lego starwars games to be included but that would be just too awesome for anybody to deal with.
Now all I have to do is resist the temptation to kill Robin over and over and over and over...........
