Taito Brings Space Invaders To Wii, Lets *You* Be The Invader

Japanese publisher Taito is going all out for the Space Invaders thirtieth anniversary. In addition to the rock solid Space Invaders Extreme for Nintendo DS and PSP (which I quite liked) and a suit of new Invader-branded products, Taito has announced it's dragging out the property for another go on the Wii. In Space Invaders Get Even, you're in control of up to 300 of the pixelated aliens, raining death and destruction upon the humans. Take that humans!
It's sounding like a fun Space Invader-y mash up of Pikmin and Rampage, something we could definitely get behind. No word yet on whether Space Invaders Get Even is a full-fledged disc release or a WiiWare title, but we hope they clear it up soon.

There is actually a port of Pac-Man Vs to the DS in Namco Museum DS. I *think* it might even have multi-boot support.

Holy crap! I'm totally sold on this idea.
I love that the invaders are still pixel-y while everything else is polygonal.

Ok,who would care about the framerate of an RTS where you control hundreds of 8-bit blocky sprites?
And for those thinking I'm bashing the game,I'm not. It'll probably be a first day buy. Hell,I preordered Furu Furu Park!

Pacman VS with DS/Wii connectivity was would be awesome, make it for Wii Ware or as a 20 dollar stand alone and I'm sold. Space Invaders Get Even sounds awesome, the first really good use of the SI lisence that I've ever seen.

@Michael McWhertor: I had a girlfriend who really didn't like videogames much. No hatred or anything, but she hated watching them, and had no interest in playing them. Except Pac-Man I jumped at the opportunity to play Pac-Man Vs. with her, and it paid off. She loved it and we used to play it all the time. If we were still dating, we'd probably still be playing it. Sadly, she usually whooped my ass, regardless of whether I was the Pac or a ghost. She was inhumanly good at Pac-Man games.
