@DELICIOUS BUNNY: I agree, I always felt that given the first two games the VP series would work best as a trilogy with each game centred around each of the sisters. A Hrist/Ahly game could be quite interesting as she always has been completely dedicated to the gods, seeing her change for some reason or another could make for a good story.

Oh shit yes. I actually considered a VP3 would feature Hrist, but she's too arrogant and I don't like her. For the NDS? I'm extremely pleased. And yes, I bit the bullet and paid $120 USD for the PSX version, not the PSP re-release.

@amost: While there were certainly plot twists, I didn't think they were very impactful -- though maybe that was because the cliche start set me up for disappointment. But if you enjoyed it, then they succeeded for someone!

I never played the prequel, was it better or worse in comparison?

Tri-Ace did not make Baten Kaitos or its sequel.

That was Tri-Crescendo.

They do the sound for Tri-Ace games, but also make their own stuff. Like Eternal Sonata and the upcoming Fragile for example.

But Tri-Ace is making this game...and Tri-Ace makes damn fine games, so I am very interested to see where this goes.

I predict that, in the course of the game, he'll realize that all along, his hatred against the Valkyries has been misdirected; that he blamed them for some tragedy in his past. But as he meets them on the battlefield, his heart will secretly waver as he becomes MOE for them.

Then, by the end of the game, his hardcore Valkyrie hatred will be more like, "Hey baby, after we finish off the evil overlord, wanna hit up the mead hall?"

But hey, DS! If the combat is less obfuscated than previous VPs have been for me, I'm totally down with it.

damn. i'm 30 hours into vp: lenneth. it'd be nice to look forward to some more vp action on my psp. hopefully crisis core comes up strong. i'm not into the whole srpg thing. does that make me lame?

@onidavin: I actually completely disagree. The later half of the game threw the hugest plot twists at the player (the prequel does the same thing). I think they started the game off cliche-like on purpose so the end was all the more sweet.

The same guy who wrote chrono trigger did that game too!

@ArgentAngel: They are very good. An interesting story style, and the fighting system is a timing-based system similar to a fighting game. You try to make combos with your attacks by activating the characters at the right time. It's easiest to watch a video.
