Traveller's Tales So Not Behind Bubba Lego-Tep

Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman, you can see why they're made. Those kind of properties make money. Bubba Ho-Tep, on the other hand...the marketing possibilities are somewhat limited. Which doesn't bother mod-maker trepaning from putting together Bubba Lego-Tep, a mod that doesn't only take the Elvis v Mummy masterpiece and make a Lego game out of it, it's done via the Doom 3 engine. So strange. And by strange, I mean strangely fascinating.

Seems pieces need some effect added, looks better on the unreal3 engine..

Wait, Bubba Lego-Tep? That has "awesome" written all over it. I love the movie. Hell I enjoy the prospect of even getting to DESCRIBE the movie to people and see the look of shock in their eyes.

Speaking of Don Coscarelli, we desperately need a Phantasm game. Squaring off against the Tall Man while riding shotgun in the Cuda, while wielding a quad-barrel shotgun is the stuff dreams are made of.

I was lucky enough to see Bubba Ho-Tep in one of the local art-house movie theaters when it came out, and immediately loved it. I hope the May 3rd, 2008 release date turns out to be close to the mark, cause I can't wait to check out this mod.

There's a sequel rumored to be afoot called Bubba Nosferatu. Sadly, I don't think it ever got off the ground...
