Devil May Cry... Darts?
Posted by Brian Ashcraft at 8:00 PM on April 14, 2008
Darts? Dangerous. Devil May Cry darts? Extra dangerous. Reader Landon writes:
I was at some game center/bowling/darts place and I saw these Devil May Cry darts in the window. I'm a huge DMC fan, so I would've bought them if they were cheaper, but I couldn't justify the $US 25 price tag.Obviously the only justification for Devil May Cry darts is that they are DMC darts. Just think of the combo insanity!

@ShiNZ: Lucky Star Sake makes sense..kinda..since one (or more) of the characters drinks the stuff by the gallon.
These would only make sense if they got like, Hades' Darts or something. Which given that this is DMC, isn't that far off actually.

Are they poisonous? Do they explode on impact? Do they kill vampires?
These have to be tested.

Then I thrust it~With great force
Every angle...!
It penetrates!

With great strength...!
I...ram it in!
In the end...we're all satisfied.
And you are set free...!'

O, lol didn't know that, only watched the anime..
Maybe these darts are ammunition for Nero's Gun?

Unless each and every dart goes out of its way to be an annoying try-hard twat, I don't see it being a proper Dante dart.
Also, where are the darts with giant breasts to represent the other characters in the DMC universe?

Does Dante even use darts? Or play darts? Or have any connection to darts whatsoever?
I would guess they're probably unlicensed rip offs. You can buy fake Alastor and Rebellion swords that look nothing like they're supposed to too.

Wait... what!? I've only played DMC3, and only some of it, but I don't remember darts ever being a weapon.
What next, StarCraft branded cricket bats?

The simple question I have on these darts is. Are these official from Capcom I don't see the Logo and if they are then the price seems about right. Darts of good quality are not cheap the same can be said about pool sticks.

@Brian Ashcraft:
The fact that even when slightly challenged, you permanently ban a user without even looking at any comments they've previously made is pretty ignorant. The purpose of banning the commenter would surely be to avoid further dissention amongst the Kotaku ranks, yet the comment in question seems to be neither inflammatory nor overtly aggressive.
I myself have a history of pollution-like commenting in the crystal clear river that is the Kotaku comment board, yet to this day I stand triumphantly upon the podium of banless glory. Why not just ban me right here, right now? For i have sinned Brian Christ, which need be forgiven by you in your self satisfied state of self righteousness.
I'm also guessing all 1242 commenters of the RES5, N'Gai debate were without hesitation smited BY THY MIGHTY BANHAMMER as their respective comments happened to be literal vapours in the half-ghost world of non-comments.
'That is not a comment'?
THIS IS A COMMENT.

I've never actually heard anyone IRL talk about Devil May Cry. Is it actually popular?

Schoolimangooli is right. Who cares how many decent posts you wrote before it.
Any justice system is not perfect. For all the people who commit crimes, I'm sure a very small number are caught. But best to catch them before they do it again, if possible.

@GrlGmr: Lucifer from DMC4 is basically the same as Dante throwing giant darts, which is what Black-Dog-Howls' comment is referring to.

Nah, they're licensed. The place I snapped this pic at had a Devil May Cry themed dart board as well. There's also a DMC3 slot machine in Japan.
They add video game (and other) themes to a lot of random things here to draw people in. Slots, pachinko, darts, etc.

@OllieCostello: You wanna know the secret to successfully "challenging" or at least asking something of Kotaku's editors? Don't be a dick about it. I've questioned the things they've done or the reasons why a number of times, and though I was occasionally quite silly about it, I don't think I've ever been outright rude. And if you'll notice, I still have my account. I've received responses to my concerns as well. Imagine that!
Sure, there have been some bans over minor stuff. No system's perfect, right? My roommate was banned over an infraction I feel was kind of minor, but if one really cared, they could appeal the ban, I assume?
Bottom line: Suck it up. You're not fighting the power of some kind of evil dictatorship. It's a blog, they run it like they see fit, and no one has chained you to it. You're not forced to be here. That, uh, that I know of anyway. But I don't think anyone wants someone like the person who wrote your last post around, Ollie. That's just irritating.
