Star Trek: The Next Rock Band
Posted by Mike Fahey at 3:30 AM on April 16, 2008
Devoted reader Ryan, also known as King Cutch the First: Sovereign of the Pumpkin Empire, for some reason felt the need to mention that he and his friends are huge Star Trek geeks when he submitted this video of the all Star Trek: The Next Generation Rock Band, The Ready Room. Just a bit obvious there Ryan, but it's okay. The fact that your fiancee built the characters proves that you'll do just fine in life. This is actually very nicely done, and it may have just rekindled a secret crush from my past. Wesley's mum has got it goin' on. Rawr.

Never really been a fan of music games, but Rock Band definitely has my interest now!
I've watch a Star Trek episode almost every day for the past 1.5 years. Finished with TOS and TNG, working my way through DS9 now.
I agree though, that band needs more Data, he was definitely one of the best characters of TNG.
Also, Picard would pwn Kirk.. :P

Nice attention to detail, two thumbs up.
Reminds me of a funny song by Voltaire, the USS Make Shit Up (but yea, I'm a Star Trek fan too)

I hate how the rock band characters move their head. it just seriously pisses me off for some reason. That aside I really wish I had the cash for this game. *swoon*

@RPGr: I would guess with careful use of the tattoo builder. Not quite as fancy as the Forza decal system, but it is pretty robust.
Those characters are awesome.

Ahh La Forge. When I started watching Star Trek TNG as a kid I always referred to him as Levar Burton due to reading rainbow.
Really nicely done, esp. the Warf one (how she got the Klingon forehead).

@jayntampa: Haha, you too? "Erase that personal log!" I LOVE THAT EPISODE! A whole lot of gray area - that's my type of conflict.
Funny story - Avery Brooks (Cisco) was my neighbor (well he still lives next door to my parents)...it was always nice to hear the stories about filming Star Trek.

@jayntampa:
Indeed that was a great episode. DS9 had the best moral conflicts of the series.
I think Garak was a special Caradassian, I doubt many others had such a special moral viewpoint.
I should get this game with a 360, I currently have a Wii now but I doubt the Wii version is as good since it lacks DLC.

I was amused by the fact that Commander Riker was given the title No. 1 lol. He looks better as a Rock Band character in my opinion.
I think the whole idea was awesome, though personally I think Guinan should have been in there somewhere. =)(I know she wasn't part of the "proper" crew, but she was always an intriguing character)

You guys remember the episode with the Ferengi that was a send-up of the Magnificent Seven? :P
Probably the best thing about that show was that every major character was actually given a full story arc and allowed to grow and change. Probably the only one that wasn't HUGELY different at the end was O'Brien, because ... well, he was cool to begin with.

Fahey, ever seen the HBO series "Dream On" from 1993? [www.imdb.com]
There is a great scene with Gates McFadden (Dr. Crusher) fully nude riding the main character from the series. She's only in this one episode but back then, it was great to see Dr. Crusher, girls bouncing free, as she acted/screamed out an orgasim. Always looked at her differently after that, she seemed to get much hotter.
