Sid Meier Appearing At New York Comic Con
Posted by Mike Fahey at 11:00 AM on April 19, 2008
The New York Comic Con might as well be called the New York Video Game Con - Now With Comics for all of the gaming goodness that's going on over the weekend. Various publishers and developers will be on hand to show off their wares, most notably the living legend himself, Mr. Sid Meier. Sid will be at the 2K Games Booth (#1157) on Saturday, April 19, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, to meet fans, sign autographs, and just generally be Sidly. 2K will be showing off Civilization Revolutions throughout the entire weekend, though you might want to stop by early to get your hands on one of the limited edition prints created in collaboration with Studio Number-One and Shepard Fairey they'll have available. Seriously, I would seriously maim someone if it meant I could be there this weekend, so those of you with the means owe it to me to go in my stead. Off with you!

OH yeah i was there today and got to tryout Metal Gear Solid online as well as the Hellboy game and got some nice info on it. It was written in collaboration with Mike Mignola and Guillermo Del Torro and has an entirely different story line than the movie. It felt alright, almost God of War-ish. Metal Gear Solid was fan-fucking-tastic and thats bassicly all i can say on that. Anyway thanks for this post Fahey i broke out my Sid Meiers Pirates for the psp so i guess il have him sign that tommorow.

Damnit, it's only a 5 hour drive away and Sid Meier is the man, but I doubt I'll be able to afford it or find the time on my budget as it is. I'm not expecting much out of Revolution, though I understand why he did it, but I know that every iteration of Civ that has come out has been stunning. I'd love to go there to get a copy of Civ IV signed, but I doubt its worth the effort or money at this point.

Luckily I live right down the street and will be taking as many pictures as I can. They are low res and black/white but if anyone cares I will upload all of them each night to here:
