@robinandtami: It's actually very hard to see in the picture. Go to your local store and look at the box and it is there, plain as day. I'll admit I could see something was there when looking at it one the internet, but it is very obvious in person.

We recognize that cover artwork needs to serve as a marketing tool for the video game product, but printing an artistic cover on the reverse will enliven the video game collections of gamers everywhere and elevate the artform of video games.

Heh, I told myself today I wouldn't buy this until they did something about the cover. Wasn't really expecting a solution by the end of the day. Guess I've got to buy this now. Good to see Capcom cares about it's fans and realizes they screwed up. Lots of companies would have just ignored us. Now if we can just get them to stop adding crap to Lost Planet and rereleasing it and give us the same game on 360, PC, and PS3 we'll be all set.

The recent IGN podcast talked about the watermark. They figure Capcom lost the original assest and just looked for one quickly. The art was given to IGN in the first place.

@BStu: That's why I love the PSP and PS3 cases so much. Many of the games are starting to come with inside artwork you can see through the case, much like with certain animes. They should all be like that, I think.

You may want to read some other reviewers. People who bothered to put time in the controls gave the controls a favorable rating. The diss raters didn't even put down that the dodge is an optional move and you don't even need to use it or that quick strokes can be done by pressing z and a at the same time.

As for cutscenes they are the same in the PS2 version and guess what you can skip through them by pushing a button.

@Fierfaerie: Heck, that's actually a problem isn't it. 360 cases are translucent plastic, so the back side of the covers is normally seen underneath. Hmm. Obviously, a concern, but one I hope could be worked around.

I'm tempted to mock up some ideas, but then I remember that I'm not really that kind of graphic designer and figure I'm better off leaving well enough alone.

because really, I was kind of depressed to learn of the watermark, that and the giant garish red bubble saying it had such and such score on some website - The cover art is marred enough with rating boxes and such, no need for stuff like that!

Victorious Boxers Revolution on Wii had some pretty generic looking boxart on the front. But the flipside of the box insert had art reflecting the original Japanese release, Hajime no Ippo Revolution.

I bought Okami, because it's Okami. So I have the IGN-marked version, and I already ordered a replacement... mostly because it was free, heh. But more importantly, yeah. The pictures on Kotaku are too blurry to really SEE it, but if you know what to look for on the box, the watermark is pretty damn obvious, so it's sad to see that slipped past whatever serves as Cap's quality control department.

The IGN water mark didnt bother me but i did think it was pretty funny, but with this offer WAY TO GO CAPCOM! Major props. But I second the request that more games should ship with double sided inserts - a regular cover and an artistic version on the otherside. Printing your own just doesnt have the same quality to it. My only complaint about these is it doesn't have a logo on the spine so i cant tell what game it is when its in my shelf. I should be getting both variant versions. Two Address FTW!
