@PhilESkyline: 1-1/2? ... give me a break their are 4, and their all solid... the ones that were in the game you only saw 1/10th of what the actual multiplayer maps are... the one with the control room, you saw the control room... not all the rooms upstairs, the roof, the buildings across the street, the gas station, the large lobby... the back stage area with cameras and stuf.f.. its huge.

they play them ... but they play some more than others in diff game types... sabotage is HUGE in chinatown... its probably one of the favorites already for sabotage....
creek is wicked for TDM especially with teams that have good snipers.
regardless.... I CANT WAIT FOR ANOTHER MAPPACK... their is going to be another one right?

What really annoys me is how often the new maps are skipped. I can't believe people would pay for something and hardly give it a chance.
I have a feeling that a lot of the skippers are unwilling to play the new maps because they don't know every nook and cranny yet and can't hang without having that intimate knowledge of the map.

They should have released the PC map pack early this month. They would have gotten my $10 (I prefer the pc version). Now my mind is all GTA and if I play a little cod4 I probably wont feel like getting new maps.

@MURFEGGS: Ya, for the first weekend after the map pack's release there was a mode to play only the new maps. I had more fun with that than I ever have had with COD4.
Though, they pulled those modes and you need to wait for them in rotation. Takes forever for them to appear and when they do, I find that people (usually clans) will skip a map because they don't know it well enough.

I can se this on my buddy list, as most of my list consists of HALO and CoD4 gamers....For the 37+ gamers on my list that play COD4 only 2 didn't get the maps yet. But the wiered thing on the other side is that the other 40 or so HALO gamers only about half bought the newest maps and the other bunch would rather wait for the maps to go free...? what does that say about the Halo3 gamers or to stay on topic what does it say about the CoD4 gamers on my list.

My beef is not with the map but the price aka value.
As in something new not something converted. Creek and Killhouse are brand new (never seen) the other two are just converted from the current and pervious ver. How does that justify a $10 dollar price tag?

@jigglypoofs:
Honestly "Bungie's Whorefest" does alot more than Console Counter strike (CoD4), such as:
-replays
-vehicles
-forge
-screenshots
-character custimization
-better ranking/skill system
-better physics
-tons more gametypes
-just a shitlaod more variety
-way more stats than anyone ever needed
-more stuff I am probably forgetting
I do enjoy CoD4 but it is basically your standard online shooter that does nothing new (aside from the airstrikes, helicopters, etc... which are really cool), it just perfects what has always been around.
You can tell alot more effort went into Halo 3's online portion.

A map from single player (Broadcast), a redone map from the old ver (Chinatown), A new map (Creek), and a half of a map (Killhouse). Throw some wood boards and arrows around...yea that's worth $10 bucks lol.

Skipping past the comments from bitter PC gamers & straight up complainers about the maps being a rip off....
The maps are great and well worth the $10. I'm glad a lot of people are downloading it, the more that have it the more people my friends and I can beat people on them.
Even the small map Killhouse is good, but the other 3 maps are great! The game launched with 16 maps, I would say only 2 of them weren't that great. Now the game has a total of 20, still more than many other FPS games.

@PhilESkyline: How does part of a brand new single player campaign not be considered new? It was never played with 16 players running around doing objectives? It can't be that hard to understand that it is new. And Chinatown, although having the same layout as Carentan, looks brand new. It is now at night with a lot of street lighting and modern cars. Yeah, I played and loved COD2's Carentan, doesn't mean they should of left it out for you to justify your precious $10.
COD4 is touching a whole brand new audience, there are tons more gamers on the 360 now, I had COD2 since launch, but not everybody had the chance to play Carentan, which is the best map to play on. So because you feel you didn't get anything new, there are thousands upon thousands that don't know their way around the map.

@AEREC: Uhm. Halo *has* physics? Sort of. I Guess.
Also, You're forgetting that COD4 has a PC counterpart. Screenshots are nothing new, sorry to say. Forge is nifty, and easy to use, but you can't really you know, make a map with it.
Aside from that I agree that Halo's Multiplayer is more friendly than COD4's, if only because you can kick players who team kill you, unlike in COD4 where you'll play several rounds of hardcore and have to deal with assholes who repeatedly fire the rocket launcher into the ground at spawn points.

They really only made two maps from the ground up (new) redone is not new but edited lol, that's all I'm talking about.
Honestly I love COD4 it's a great game but how they priced the $10 price tag for their "loyal" customers but give the new customers the same game with new maps included for no additional charge is wrong.
DLC should have been free if not cheaper for those with the game. They made a quick couple of million for something that probably took them a few weeks lol.

Companies only do what customers allow.
Nosignalinput proved my point with Killhouse "It's just based on the singleplayer tutorial and re-uses a lot of the scenery."
Creek was the only real map that they created. The other three are edited and or converted. It's easy to make edits. Copy and paste code here and there. Not hard to do my friend.
If enough people would have thought out what they were paying for instead of being blinded by the greatness of the game, which it is, IW would have changed the price or delayed the release and added more new maps.
You control the market not the businesses.

But anyway, yes, the map pack is awesome. I love creek, it is by far the best map they have released for the game yet. It's so incredibly detailed.

@PhilESkyline: Of course DLC would be awesome if it were free, but come on now, its the new way and there is nothing we can do to change it.
I feel like the Halo map packs were more of a "rip-off" but at least one of them became free, so it'll be like getting 6 maps for $10.
I don't see COD4 maps becoming free, but it doesn't matter to me or my friends now, we all bought it the first moment we could.
There is nothing wrong with the new maps, you can't have that warped way of thinking when it comes to online multiplayer maps.

@PhilESkyline: You are reminding me of one of my XBL friends who was annoyed that the COD2 maps had pieces of the campaign within them.
I told him he was being stupid and just play the damn game.
I can see your opinion on the map pack, but over a million other normal gamers don't care about it apparently.
Creek is a great new map, but did you notice that one (maybe 2) of the buildings in it are from the map Downpour? I gather you didn't notice that, but now that you know, should we just delete the content off our HDD because IW are a bunch of dumbass developers?
I recall playing the campaign through the TV station and thought: "WOW, this would be great for playing multiplayer!" And apparently I wasn't alone in my head, because the community spoke up about it.
Carentan was a great COD2 map, when I heard that Chinatown was a remake, I did a backflip out of excitement.
Killhouse, they say it is a mock up of the campaign part, but I don't see the similiarity. At least the map is bigger than Shipment, which is easily the only map that is complete garbage in the whole game.

The few times I got stuck in a shipment 6v6 match (or even 3v3 HQ) I ask my friends if this is IW's idea of a sick & twisted joke. Really, it is just dumb and pointless.
3v3 Sabatoge is alright because I can get it done within 30 seconds. S&D is pretty pointless as well, I can end the whole series in under 2 minutes.
The time I enjoy Shipment is a custom 1v1 deathmatch, just so no one really hides.

I agree, the new maps are really not worth the 10 bucks. You are basically getting 1 map for ten with edits for existing maps on the disc already. Fine if it was free but when you have to pay extra on top of it....
If they make a gold edition , will the new maps be free then on the disc? I don't think that's fair. Is that the price you pay for being impatient?
The only game I went crazy with the DLC purchasing was Lost planet. All new maps from the ground up and it's a blast playing.
I hope IW decides to do a Bungie and let these maps go for free sometime later.
