But according to the guinness book of records gamers edition it was Gears that forces ms to up the memory on the 360, that can only be a good thing.

Awesome news. I'm in the same boat of people who think Gears 1 was a terrific shooter. Flawed? Yes. Innovative? Depends on who you talk to. Fun? HELL YEAH!

It was a tad short though. This was one of the games that made me get a 360.

@Cheddies: Only decent first years games were this and Oblivion if my memory is correct. GOW was great fun but very short, co-op mode got a lot of hours though eventually. Plus John Di Maggio = Win.

Gametrailers has been getting a lot of good stuff, I've watched nearly every episode and enjoyed the lot. Can't wait to get some actual footage of GOW2 (as well as Resistance 2 in a few months). Expecting the latest version of the Unreal Engine to show some pretty special (as in pretty looking) things.

'Cliffy B' *shudder* coming through that wall with the chainsaw at E3 (or wherever it was) was one of the most cringeworthy, embarrassing things I've seen in a long time. He expected it to go down a treat, and instead was greeted with silence. What a burn.

Uh...good for GameTrailers TV. I like Geoff and all, he's a good guy, but I just find it a little hard to believe that this trailer is going to be anything past more of the same. I guess that's what the fans want though, so give it to 'em.

But it's good to see GT TV isn't just being choked to death by internet media like most other gaming shows, or phasing off into mediocrity like X-Play.

@el_rezzo: Don't forget Dead Rising. There are others, but I feel DR gets overlooked, especially for the tiny text complaint. It didn't bother me, and I had a SDTV and wore glasses when I played it the first time.

Something tells me that this trailer will have a reticle, and you'll hit A to duck behind things, also, you can raise your gun over your head and fire without looking. All this brand new gameplay in a sea of gray and brown environments. The draw to Gears was that it was the prettiest game on the system by.... a lot. Did it play alright? Sure, for like the 2 hours that it actually lasted, multiplayer being broke as all hell.

Why do I have this feeling that GOW2 coming out in November 2008 is a bad idea? I mean, if it came out next year, it'd probably earn a lot sales. But with GTAIV being 2008's big game, it's almost as if GOW2's November launch is trying to counter that.

I have high hopes for this game, but I wanna know a if a few things about the multiplayer in the original were changed. I'm doubtful I'll know from a short gameplay trailer that probably shows only campaign footage. I'll have to wait to find out if they un-nerfed the bullets from the default chainsaw gun. It was pretty sad to see how Gears iconic weapon was so useless (except for chainsaw kills) that people used the shotgun or pistol as if it was the default gun in MP. Also, I'd like some MP other than 4 on 4 no-respawn. (This was the main one, I can remember the others.) In those small team matches, muting people feels a little rude from a strategy point, but I always end up doing it cuz, well it's XBL. And even though lag is just part of video games, I don't think "host advantage" became a staple of my video game vocabulary until Gears. Until then I didn't realize that some "choppiness" in game animation due to latency could be programmed out unless it became horrendous. (Yes, that was dumb.)

@Eothein: The Resistance trailer was actually a 'teaser' and non gameplay footage. You can expect the same experience on June 13th when GameTrailers shows gameplay for Resistance 2.

Fortunately for the gaming community, you can come out in front of an audience wielding a chainsaw gun and receive applause, where in with a less-open audience, you'd get your arse handed back to you or get laughed at.

I must admit that I'm digging the fact that we are getting first looks at games OUTSIDE of game shows. Sure, E3 as an event was fun for us online, but it was also overwhelming. I'd prefer to see debuts like this scattered throughout the year with maybe a full blown exposé at the game and trade shows.

@Sigma-D: I don't think this game is trying to counter gta with its November release, the holiday season is when triple a titles always come out. Gta was supposed to come out last year but didn't because it wasn't ready, not because of halo3 or other blockbuster titles. Either way I seriously can't wait Gor this game!!!!!

@Crafty79: I just feel its awkward seeing how big of a franchise like GEARS and how it had this long anticipation and hype until its release. Now, it's like 'GTAIV will be released...Oh, btw Gears of War 2 is coming in November'

Now I'm not really a huge Gears fan and I doubt I'll even pick up the sequel (due to the extremities people would go through just to cheat and win...Oh and the kids I had to deal with in the first one online). But it is a strong title worthy of its praise, but I just feel GTAIV took 2008 hands down.

It will be cool to finally be able to see the game but GOW2 is gonna have a lot of competition this Fall. Personally I'm looking forward to Fallout 3 more than GOW2.
