Inside the Rockstar/GTA Launch Parties

N'Gai Croal of Newsweek's Level Up takes us on a tour of the hipper-than-thou launch parties Rockstar threw to kick off GTA IV over the past two weeks. Billed as "a rare series of intimate events representing the eclectic musical soundtrack," they were really a big meet-n-greet pairing gaming writers with artists and other Rockstar types.
N'Gai delved into the multiplayer aspect, too. He's looking to DLC and other online buildout to really deepen the game. "Once the Scotsmen absorb all the feedback from the millions of gamers who take the plunge into its online experience, we have no doubt that something special is in the offing," he writes.
Naturally Rockstar pumped N'Gai for the possibility of being covered in Newsweek, hard copy. (His reply: "Stay tuned.")

Does N'Gai have his own podcast? Just listening to him on 1up talking about Fallout 3 makes you want to listen to him. He really got me interested in it more than I am already.

I thought this game had problems due to the drunk driving according to this guy?
Maybe now hes seen the comedy behind them and how it generally effects you in the game. Hes actually realised what he did wrong

I forgot that GTA was by Rockstar North.
They're predicted, what, $400 million sales? That's about the yearly budget for administration in Scotland. Wowza.

@enewtabie: No podcast as far as I know. I frequent his blog, but it's actually relatively cryptic, so I've never looked into it as far as audio-Croal.

On the subject of multiplayer... Hasn't one of the 15 modes gone unrevealed? Have I missed something or is something special still underwraps?

@Does Not Equal: I'm sorry, but as you can tell from ez054098 people aren't just saying that as a joke. I didn't particularly agree with him either, but in context what he said was that the trailer for RE:5 could be misconstrued as racist; he wasn't saying it was.
I'm sorry, and I too don't like emotiocons either usually...
