Legend Of Spyro Animated Film In The Works

While the Spyro the Dragon series has been steadily declining in quality since the original was released, one thing the developers have never skimped on is voice talent. Just look at the cast for the upcoming game The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. You've got Christina Ricci, Elijah Wood, Wayne Brady, Gary Oldman, and Mark Hamil - all amazing voice talents. In other words, you've got the makings of an amazing CGI movie, which according to Variety is in the works.
Velvet Octopus has a five-pic deal with producer Ash Shah, which includes two more 3-D projects, both CGI animated — "Outback," the story of a white koala bear, and "The Legend of Spyro," a spin-off from the best-selling video game.Of course there are no details whatsoever other than the fact that a deal is in place, but if they can secure even a few of the series' top-notch voice actors I'd be glad to hand over my hard-earned monies for a couple of hours of purple dragon goodness.

I dunno, the third game was far better than the original... In fact, I wouldn't really say there was a noticeable decline between any of the original trilogy - the quality just drops sharply after them.

Yes OUTBACK! It has always been my dream to see the day a pixarish film is being made by a koala and her cubs in the red sun of what is called austrailia. Oh what a glorious today is today. We see the GTA4 single handling take on the Economy while it's fighting off the big bully of EA.

It might not suck! Try and be positive... It's still CGI, and considering what they're drawing from they could make a very decent movie with its own plot that still ties in well with the series.
I mean, at least it's not Live-Action, right?

Spyro might have gone downhill with games he still is a really fun character to see, hear and play.

Big name actors for voices is just a waste of money. There;s no shortage of talented voices that aren't big name actors. Granted Wayne Brady and Mark Hamill are both very good.

They should get Tom Kenny to do the voice for Spyro, as he did in the original 3 games. He's surely a big enough voice talent since he voices Spongebob Squarepants for Christ's sake.

Wait a minute: since when are Christina Ricci and Elijah Wood amazing voice talents? Decent enough actors, sure, but I don't think they're in the same league as Mark Hamill as far as voices are concerned.

Will Insomniac have anything to do with this project? You know, the people that INVENTED SPYRO before Universal flexed their legal might and snatched this and Crash when Insomniac and Naughty Dog left them...
Nah, I'm sure it will be people who had nothing to do with the original games...
