Personally I think we should actually be supporting special editions like this, since it's a better offering than packing in a DVD of just half an hour of developer interviews that don't say anything you haven't read in a website preview, and it shows game companies that there is a market for collectors editions of this scale.

Really I just want to have the option of getting cool swag like they do in Japan with every other game/DVD release. I remember when Kill Bill was coming out on DVD, we got a POS bargain release and Miramax staff going on about double dipping, while Japan got a more extras loaded DVD, t-shirt and mini hanzo sword + stand.

Youtube already had a video unboxing of the PS3 SE but I'm guessing it was taken down by now. Both have the very same contents for those who are wondering. I have my SE paid off for 360 and I'm heading down to the store now to prepare for the lil pre-launch get together with the staff. I don't work for them but I am mad cool with the district and store managers so no line waiting for me. VIP baby VIP...!

@KaneRobot: @Zaos: I'm more or less on the same page... on the one hand, it is incredibly tempting to buy this CE, since it's so much more than the standard CEs other companies release for a similar price point (DMC4 anyone?), but on the other, I'd fawn over it for a day or so then off it goes to take up another precious corner in my room.

I'd rather use the extra $30 toward another game. But then again, I'm planning on getting the MGS4 CE, so there may be some hypocrisy laced there :/

That chainsaw threw me off for a minute, I thought the cover art to the game disc was supposed to be a limited print for the collectors (maybe the US version is different here). Plus I never heard or seen anything regarding free gamer pics and 500 MS points (I heard it was 800 free pts) printed right on the 360 box, plus why does it mention that the game is not included on the box (I don't get that at all). Is the lock box open when you unwrap the game, looks like the keys come on the inside when you buy it.

This is great for you Luke, however I just went to a midnight launch here in Canada and after an hour went home, opened up my special collector's edition, was more excited than ever, and than when I got to the game there was a huge fucking gash right through the disc. Needless to say I'm really pissed off, and now I have to go back there tomorrow (and I'm not even going to bother playing the game due to having to redo it for the new disc) so that angers me even more.
